Three words "Bait and Switch". Several years ago when I first went to a Five guys I was very impressed and could not help but wonder why anyone would even bother with McBland when there was this. I'm not much of a burger and fries guy so I hadn't been here for a few years. Fast forward to a couple of weeks ago. I took my wife and son and thought we had ordered reasonably and yet the bill came out to $43. Ouch! That's almost a trip to Red Robin, but they have those wonderful burgers made with all natural yummy meat, right? Wrong! Any signage indicating that the meat was ever natural or even good in any way has been quietly removed and they are now using the same gross, rubbery, tasteless, utility grade beef that is making people fall out of love with Mickey D's, Burger King, Jack in the Box, etc. The fries, although they still cloy you with them, aren't even all that anymore. Did they switch to cheaper potatoes or what? I don't know, but the yummy factor is now much lower. It's disgusting that this company is now skating by on a reputation that they earned during their first few years of business. Any good feelings that people have for this company are completely undeserved at this point. They are now serving rubbish, just like...

It's at least arguably the highest quality burger you're gonna get (in the fast food category) in the area. Real flavorful beef burger, without the "fast food energy dump" commonly found with their competition. Order the smallest fries 🍟 portion possible per-person, because they generously RAIN THE FRIES extra compared to whatever corresponding order you place...and they're pretty darn tasty fries too. Remember...don't eat in the car, because you need serious napkins for the burgers and don't order if you are on a Taco Bell budget; but if you don't mind spending $2-$8 more per person, it's worth it, and SIGNIFICANTLY better than the typical competition. Also, the service is good. Every time I've stopped in the immediate attention has been friendly. I even noticed that the back line cooks keep an eye on the counter and smile. Let's be honest, you don't get...

As someone who grew up in the South West I'm a I-n-O fan boy. Since the nearest one is in Salem I thought we'd try Five Guys for a treat. We were not disappointed.
Burgers were top shelf, melt in your mouth yum yum. What really takes Five Guys to the next level is the fries. OMG!!!! We were getting our order to go. We got three burgers and One large Fry. The Fry cook made a point of dumping in copious amounts of extra fries into our bag. On the drive home we couldn't help but grab scalding fries out of the bag and devour them. They are perfect! Perfect crisp, perfect flavor (from the peanut oil), perfect salt. I see no problem ordering nothing but fries from Five Guys. They stand on their own.
However, combining the superb fries and top shelf burgers creates a new level of fast food eatery...
