J's Teriyaki — Restaurant in Oregon

We used to love this place so much. I know they change owners and still liked the food. But yesterday, I had a bad experience with the guy working there. I am Mexican and I love spicy food. It used to be my numer 1 place for spicy chicken, but the last time I tried it it was kind of sweet only not spicy, so this time I asked my husband to tell the guys to make it a little more spicy and he did. He asked my husband if we wanted their special spicy chicken and I was ok with it because I thought since it was an ansian food restaurant I was specting asian red Chilli sauce, Sriracha etc. When I took the first bite all I could taste was the Carolina reaper sauce. I love spicy food but this chicken was not edible at all. I asked my husband to try it and he couldn't. I could only take one bite. So I went and told the guy what had happened. I told him I love spicy food but sorry that chicken was just not edible. He was upset right away and told me in a rude way that he could not exchange it or give me my money back, I told him I could pay for my order since thats what I told my husband initially, that if they didn't want to change it for another plate I was gonna order just a teriyaki plate. The guy got mad because I told him I was not expecting carolina reaper sauce in an Asian dish, common sence, and that he should have told my husband initially that the dish was made with that type of sauce. He just kept telling me that that's why he told my husband it was really spicy and that he could get rid of my food for me and if I was going to order something else. At this point I felt so uncomfortable to order more food since he was being rude. When I left he was being so sarcastic telling me bye, bye have a good night. Something like that. As I was leaving, he started talking about what had just happened to the guy that was behind me. And that was the worst part, that's not how you treat...

We went there for the first time last night for dinner. The prices were standard for any teriyaki place. We decided to dine in. I thought it was odd when the woman at the counter asked what drinks we wanted after she took our order, when there was clearly a soda fountain in the dining room. We told her and, after giving us our change, she went over and filled our drink cups for us. So I'm thinking, great, no refills.

We sat down and the table we chose was a little sticky. She came over and quickly cleaned it for us, without having to ask. After a very short wait, she brought us our food. She set the plates down and said that she thought my plate had more chicken. I looked down and told her she was right, and she better give it to him. We laughed and she switched the plates, telling us she had a new cook. She gave us teriyaki sauce, silverware, and chopsticks, and left us to our meal.

After a little while, she came back and filled our drinks! What a relief. She was so on it with every single thing... literally, the only thing I could beat her to the punch was asking for a to go box... and even at that, she was already getting our tooth picks and our candies together! She didn't just give me a box, either... no... She came and bussed our table, boxed my food, and brought it back to me wrapped in a bag.

I was so impressed with this place! GREAT food, the most excellent service I've had in a LONG time, and they had HGTV playing. So... I'm sold. Best $10 I've spent on a meal in a long time. I will be going back... like, religiously. New...

Update, make sure you double check the order and do not order through doordash ever because they will screw you. The lady that you place an order with is high most of the time so I would definitely have her repeat the order to you. The food is still amazing to the service that lacks. Ate here with my two sons we had a great time talking to the purveyor and we topped off the evening with very enjoyable food. Veteran-owned quality food it's a little out-of-the-way from the main road but I highly recommend you seek this place out it is great! RESPONSE: My review is my experience, too bad. First, my review of your restaurant directed who I see is responsible for what. My interaction with your cashier had nothing to do with the previous days order thru doordash, I had only brought it to her attention I NEVER ASKED OR EXPECTED ANY REFUND, she lied to you. Second, her laxidasical attitude and general air headedness is why I said that she seemed on drugs. This was the second time she'd messed up my order, to which she fixed but meanwhile the rest of my food was cold for your LACK OF FOOD WARMERS. Third, helluva thing to say to someone who dropped over 3 $300 in two days in your restaurant. Finally, Don't BELIEVE ME.. Call and see for yourself. The food is over the moon good, but buyer beware, cuz you might have to pay for it with more than money. I myself will never give you...
