I've been coming here since I started snowboarding 15 years ago. I always remembered how they used to tell me, "welcome to the ratskellar, find a seat, and order at the bar when you're ready." Now it's replaced with a sign to let you know this, which I'm sure is an awesome substitute for the bartenders; better then them losing their voices over the crowd which I've seen multiple times over the years. The only time I've ever left disappointed was during winter break. Not because of the time it takes for food (which is understandable when they're slammed with orders), the staff being rude for no reason, or anything like that, but because of the guest who come up to the mountain and feel they're entitled. I've heard snobby remarks multiple times from guest, seen the food they send back when it looks delicious, and hold up the line not knowing what food they want. But other then that, the workers here work like machines, the bartenders get you taken care of fast, and the food is awesome! The arcade isn't ran by the ratskellar, it's open when the cafe is. So the reviews on that don't make sense. I love the fact that I'm a re occurring customer, and know exactly what to do when i come. It's a great feeling to be recognized and appreciated for returning. I've worked in the industry for a long time, and have not idea how they can communicate with so many people in a 2 hour period without losing their minds. I still love it here. This place is real, and don't sugar coat the experience by being fake or dishonest. If you want a great meal, beat the crazy traffic, grab a drink, take a break, have a laugh, or are staying in govy, then go enjoy it at the RAT. And if you get a chance to ask about the history of it, do it! You won't believe the craziness and fun this place has held in the past! 5 stars...
Read moreI have spent over 15 years frequenting this establishment. From it being our favorite summer spot to visit on trips to hood to our favorite after mtn visit in the winter . As a single person wanting to enjoy dinner and good company chatting it up with bartenders and staff, to being a mom & dog owner who enjoys there beautiful space that is family friendly. We have also enjoyed it as being apart of a wedding party who had their rehearsal dinner here and the wedding was also catered by them, the food was amazing and everything was ran so smoothly which eased any anxiety that one might feel in throwing a large event.
The staff has always gone above and beyond to make me feel like I’m coming home to a place I cherish that is filled with memories of good food, good service & the feeling of being apart of the mtn community I’ve visited and enjoyed since I was a child.
Don’t sleep on this gem and they’re amazing PIZZA , food and staff who goes above and beyond to make you feel that charm and small government camp community...
Read moreToday my family from Washington stopped in for lunch, the lady working the bar was so friendly to everyone! My sister in law had set out a clean, folded diaper that was sitting on top of her hat. (My sister in law was by the pinball machines with the kids). The girl that started cleaning our tables BEFORE WE HAD ALL EVEN STOOD UP, looks at me and says "are you going to clean that up?!" I don't think I've ever been talked to with such an attitude at a restaurant. Before I answered, she asked if it was clean or dirty. I said "it's clean and if it were dirty, I would have cleaned it up." Although she had assumed it was mine because I was holding my son, I wasn't sitting at the same table. She blocked my husband in the area while she cleaned the tables and started before my disabled father in law could even get his coat on. We would not have tipped had we known how she would have been. Customer service says a lot and I wouldn't go back there unless it was to get a drink from the friendly bartender...
