Arrived around 7:45pm on Friday night. My husband & I ordered a soda each, a pretzel with beer cheese to share and a pepperoni pizza to share. Soda was as expected, pretzel and beer cheese was very hot and beer cheese was really good. Pepperoni pizza had some serious issues. I’m not a picky pizza person; but this was beyond disappointing. The pizza had such little sauce (and I don’t looooove sauce ridden pizza so moderate sauce is good with me) the pizza was dry! It had very, very little cheese and while it had ample pepperoni, literally all but maybe 2-3 pieces of the tiny pepperoni pieces were burned to a crisp. The dough was so tough it literally hurt to chew it. The pizza was $19 and was slightly larger than a personal size pizza. I wouldn’t have minded the cost, but the pizza was nearly inedible. We aren’t the type to send food back, and we were tired from a long fun filled day, so we ate as much of it as we could, to ate least fill up and get our dollars worth. I had really high hopes and was really disappointed by this dinner.

We go up to Govy 1-2x per month. Been doing this for decades. Beers here are good. Big fan! Been drinking them for almost 20 years. Though they’re food has tremendously gone down hill. They use to have amazing calzones. Big! But this last time we got a pizza to-go. No size choices. Just one size. And when we were waiting on the pizza the bartender was making fun of pizzas with great ingredients & veggies on them as “hipster”. Basically snubbing his nose at anything that wasn’t pepperoni. And just so happens we love pizzas with tons of veggies, which is what we ordered. But whatever. We drank our beer & got our pizza & left. Got back to our cabin we got for a few days & the pizza was tiny. Like a personal tiny pizza in a big box. Very deceptive. Disappointed to say the least. Frustrated. Feeling ripped off. Won’t go back. But we’ll drink their beers that are served up at Charlie’s Mountainview or Timberline Lodge. Definitely not going back for food.

I’ve been here a few times now. Nothing stood out before (good or bad), but this visit on Mothers Day warranted a mention.

Vibe and service? Pretty good. Our waitress was very friendly and responsive.

Beer is solid. Several options, all pretty good. I enjoyed a Maibock and Pilsner.

Food is where it all fell flat. It’s a brewery/pub, so the food doesn’t have to stand out, but it sure has to be decent. Our table ordered some kids stuff, but I only tried the pizza we ordered: Pear and Walnut pizza for $19. Unfortunately it’s a very literal 10” in diameter, and that’s your only option. So we’re not talking cheap pizza here.

Our Pear and Walnut pizza came out in a reasonable amount of time, but generally looked unimpressive and cold. Taste kinda matched its looks. It was tough, chewy crust, but not in a good way. More in the “microwave leftovers” crust kind of way. That’s the whole crust, mind you - edges and bottom. I’m not entirely convinced this pizza was even made the same day we ordered it. The cheese was not bubbly or oily - it just looked like warmed cheese that had cooled off for fifteen minutes before being served, which wasn’t the case, because it only took fifteen or twenty minutes to come out.

Our pizza was advertised to have “hot honey,” and they either forgot it or used such a sparing amount that you wouldn’t have known it was there. Pears and cheese just kinda sat there, stale-ish?

The walnuts were particularly interesting, because they were burned on the top. This wasn’t a great flavor, and kind of tasted like burned popcorn. Perhaps they should toast the walnuts and add them after cooking the pizza, or pull the pizza with a couple minutes to spare, adding the toasted walnuts and putting the pizza back in to finish off the cooking process.

I honestly am not sure what else that pizza had on it. The takeaway is popcorn, stale dough, some pears, and reheated cheese.

I think you should go to Mt Hood Brewing, but maybe just for the beer and vibe. The burger and kids cheese pizza at the table were also pretty lackluster, but I didn’t try them, so I won’t review them. I can safely say nearly any food cart or decent fast food burger would be a better investment just based on looks alone.

TLDR, just get a beer and continue on with your day. The food, in my experience, ranges from...

I actually had a wonderful meal here with my family and our waitress was super sweet and provided good service. We tipped her well. The food was really good, although a bit spendy. I got the rock fish tacos which were amazing. The reason for my 1 star rating - the host (younger male) was extremely rude when we were done eating and enjoying our last drink, he came by our table and told us there was a group waiting for our table and asked us when we’d be leaving. He told the group he was waiting for us to leave and continued walking around telling other employees he was waiting for us to leave loud enough for us to hear. We weren’t there for a long time and didn’t linger and felt it was extremely rude for him to be walking around announcing it was us that was keeping another group from being seated. When he came by our table again, I told him that wasn’t very good customer service to do, he didn’t apologize but was even more rude telling us “well people are waiting for you guys to leave.” Again, we weren’t there for a long time and had just finished our meal and were finishing up, didn’t need to be rushed out. He completely ruined what was a very good outing for us. To top it off, I went to the bathroom while my husband packed up the kids and took them out to the car. I was gone for maybe 2 min, and they had already cleared the table and threw away my boxed up leftovers. One employee with terrible customer service can really ruin customers experience, as...

We arrived on a weekday for lunch at around 1pm. The place was about half empty but we had a line. We had to wait a little which was fine. We were seated and told they did not have burgers or pork. We order food. I got a chicken sandwich and a beer, my wife a salad, and my daughter some kids meal. The beer was dropped off quickly and was good. We had to wait awhile for the food. The chicken sandwich wasn’t very good, my wife enjoyed her salad. When we checked out I was not feeling great about the service and overall experience so I tipped $6 on a $60 bill. Not a good tip, not a terrible tip. A few days later I found my card was charged $120. I call the credit card company to dispute the charge. I assume the waiter was upset and added a zero to my tip on the handheld. The credit card company told me to please try to work it out with the vendor first. I call and ask to speak to a manager. I’m told the manager isn’t available but they will call me the next day but would otherwise be informed. The next day I call and am told the manager is not in but will be in later. I call a little past that specified time and the manager is still unavailable. At this point this establishment isn’t taking this situation seriously so I escalate the dispute. It’s been a few weeks and the manager has never called me back. Terrible run business and staff that engage in fraudulent activities. Take your...
