Overall: B Cleanliness: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Customer service: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Review: Limited review - I’d stay again. Stayed 1 night pre & also post hike of the Timberline Trail. Both times my rooms were clean & no issues at all despite other reviews. Staff were friendly & the morning attendant, a young guy with long black/brown hair, was super cool. The breakfast was limited but fine. Their biscuits weren’t warmed though & had to use the microwave but definitely not a show stopper. Rooms have LOTS of charging ports. I came here just to sleep & realize the price tag reflects the location & cheaper than staying at Timber Lodge but easily accessible. Only gripe are the walls, a tad too thin as I could quite easily here my neighbors on both sides & could be because of the adjoining doors. I hate those things & wish hotels completely did away with them but they seem like they aren’t going away - oh well.

It's like they're not even trying. Granted the government is making it increasingly difficult to operate any sort of hospitality based business in Oregon but it's like the staff at Best Western, Mt Hood @ Government Camp have fully given up. And to be sure, the prices don't reflect the reduction in services. All public areas are fully cordoned. Not reduced capacity, mind you, there is no seating in the lobby and all the chairs in the vacated hallways are marked off limits. The 'modified' continental breakfast is a brown bag with a muffin, breakfast bar, banana and a water. Coffee is bad. No, literally, bad. And only powdered creamer available and on the second morning we reduced to styrofoam cups, sans lids just to add insult to the bad coffee injury. The room was clean but smelt of industrial disinfectant that I associate with old folks homes but maybe that's just me.

Great hotel, conveniently located at one side of Government Camp. Plenty of places for eating and drinking around. Rooms were confortable, they had decent space for the size of the beds, seemed clean, beds had great support. Outlets were not so good to get a good grip on average plugs so be aware to check twice that your devices are really, really charging... Enormous lobby with cozy chairs in front of a fireplace. The inn has several amenities included, even a jacuzzi suite! Also, a lot of rules for guest visiting with sport equipment (they have even lockers for them!). I got surprised with the fantastic complimentary breakfast. Yet, there were not too many tables for seating. The machine that makes pancakes was a total hit with kids. Service of coffee, tea and hot chocolate were permanent for guests. Staff is kind and really helpful.

I stayed in a room with a King Bed and Jetted tub - sounds nice, and the facilities themselves weren't bad. Nonetheless, it was a horrendous experience. Firstly, the plumbing of what I imagine are more jetted tubs in other rooms, is extremely loud. It was really unpleasant. On top of that, it sounded as if the guests in the room above us were jumping on and off the bed, and racing up and down in their room with heavy footsteps - until 2:30am! Starting at 10:30pm, I let the night concierge know that the noise was bothering us. She said she'd gone to speak with them. The noise continued. At 12:30am I called the concierge again for the same reason - again she said she would speak with them, and also explained they had a German Shepherd Puppy with them, which was making all the noise. At 2:30am I went down into the lobby to complain, and after the concierge went to talk to the guests above us, it finally began to quieten down. At around 3am, we were finally able to catch a few hours of sleep before hitting the slopes. When I returned to the Hotel and brought up last nights events with one of the managers, I was accused of smoking in the room. The manager said that two of her night time staff had smelled the smoke when bringing extra blankets to my room. Obviously, neither my partner or I smoked in the room. The hotel cameras will clearly show that we walked outside, smoked in the parking lot, and then came back inside. Also, only one night time concierge came up to the room - the other staff member met me downstairs in the lobby, when I went down to complain, and pick up another blanket, because the rooms are also freezing. I told the manager that clearly those accusations were false, and even though her accusations were so easily debunked as lies, she just stared blankly at me and said I could speak to the Hotel Manager, who would only be back the next morning. The next morning, I went down to the lobby to speak to the Hotel Manager, however he'd simply given me a refund for what equates to my pet-fee, and did not even have the decency to come and speak to me, and explain why his front desk and management staff lie, or offer to clear up the situation by speaking with the staff members, and reviewing the security camera footage. It's just absolutely unbelievable.

Acquaintances of mine have had a similarly bad experience, and after leaving an honest review, received an e-mail from the Hotel Manager, letting them know they were no longer welcome to stay at the Hotel. Basically, they have very poorly trained, dishonest staff members who know nothing about customer service. I've stayed at this hotel in previous years also, and it has never been as awful as my visit in 2016. I have never been treated so rudely in my life, and certainly will not be returning to this Hotel. I will also let all my friends know not to stay there.

If you would like a nice enjoyable stay, DO NOT...

We stayed here based on all of the good reviews. Everything was fine until we pulled back the top bedding to find long hairs all over the bottom sheet and so much pilling- the sheet was very old and worn, and the top sheet had visible dirt on it. The front desk guy gave us clean bedding but didn't offer to remake the bed. He said he'd let the hotel manager know of the situation. We weren't able to get to the hotel until 10:30 pm, were exhausted, and not in the mood for what we paid. Breakfast was fine. We did our laundry in the morning and checked the machines thoroughly, only to find later that my expensive Columbia shorts were MIA. We did see a housekeeping woman hanging around the laundry area for some reason. There's no place to wait there or nearby for your clothes to be done, so they are out of sight. The hotel also has a sign that they are not responsible, etc. This same housekeeping woman was hanging around the second floor where our room was, but her cart was clear down another hall. We had the " Privacy Please" sign on the outside of our room. When she saw my husband leave the room and go downstairs on the elevator, she took it upon herself to come into our room, thinking no one was there. Imagine her surprise when she saw me standing there!! "Was there anything you needed?" was all she said. I asked her why she thought I needed something when I have the privacy sign on the door and am checking out soon. Her cart was down another hall, which means that's where she was cleaning a room. Housekeeping staff know what rooms are checking out and if they have already!. Shady staff for sure. She needs to go. I'm not sure if she's the same person that left dirty sheets on our bed, but I'm wondering how many other guests have run into things like this and not reported it. Guests shouldn't have to wonder if they'll have clean linens and/ or be robbed while they aren't in their room!! I'm hoping that the hotel manager reads this and looks into the housekeeping staff. We stayed in room 217 the night of 9-12-23. Unfortunately, I wouldn't stay here again because of...

While the motel itself is very well kept, the older gentleman who manned the front desk when we first walked in was incredibly rude to myself and my good friend who was with me. We walked up to the front desk and asked if it was possible to get a room for a couple nights. (No, we hadn't called ahead as the trip was spontaneous) the gentleman looked up at us almost scoffing and said yes, they had room and we were stupid to come in without calling. yes, he called us stupid. I paused for a moment registering what i had just heard then asked for his managers information. Not only did he tell me that he was the manager but he also acted as though what came out of his mouth wasn't an issue. Sure, we could have called ahead but the trip was supposed to be a fun, spontaneous afternoon and mount hood isn't that far from home so it wasn't a problem. At this point, i took note of his name and just wanted to get our room so we could go enjoy our day. I take out my card and ask him for a room. Unfortunately, this gentleman's attitude didn't improve. he looked at me and told me the price for the duration of our stay and asked if that would be a problem. Excuse me? Okay, first of all..I have stayed with this motel before and have NEVER had an issue in the past. The staff has always been wonderful, the rooms have always been very clean and the service was spectacular. But this gentleman clearly has a problem. At that point, we both told him that we would be taking our business elsewhere and will be reporting this incident to the real management. We ended up going to timberline lodge which turned out to be absolutely fabulous. Not only did the service exceed our expectations but they gave us a discount for the trouble we had at best western. I would never have expected them to make up for a problem that had nothing to do with them. While i do realize that the gentleman at the front desk was likely having a bad day, there is no excuse for how he treated us. Yes, i have had positive experiences in the past with this motel, but i do prefer going elsewhere...
