Apple Spice Box Lunch Delivery & Catering Utah County — Restaurant in Orem

I worked here for 4 months time and I hope I never see the inside of this cafe again. The lunchboxes are overpriced, which probably explains why people don't like to tip the delivery drivers very well. I frequently got shafted on tips for orders over $500, which sucks because the delivery drivers have to use their own car and pay for their own gas. The manager and owner are nice, but far too busy to handle any drama between coworkers. Furthermore, more than half the workers there only speak in Spanish even though they know English. Oh, and don't eat the frog-eye salad; I made it once, but I was taking too long cracking the eggs so my MANAGER came over and started essentially smashing the eggs into the bowl. When I told him his way would take longer because you have to fish out the eggshells, he told me don't worry about it because nobody would notice and there isn't time. After this experience, I have avoided working in any restaurants even though I had once dreamed of opening a bakery. People in that industry don't care about quality, they just want speed. We used this company to cater a wedding dinner. The food was great and everyone like it. We got the teriyaki chicken breast, mashed potatoes/gravy, etc. The manager was awesome in talking me through the ordering process and figuring amounts and food choices, and the employee he sent (Dimitri) to the actual dinner was the best ever. He was very attentive and kept everything running smoothly. I recommend this company for affordable and delicious catering. My only suggestion: the steamed mixed veggies are very tasty, but nearly impossible to stab with a fork, and even harder to keep on the fork. This was such a great find! We are always looking for 'healthier' lunch options for work meetings and I think we found a fabulous place! We've ordered three times in the last two weeks, and the customer service in the Orem store has been just outstanding. They have been more than attentive, even following up to see if everything was satisfactory. The lunch menu is great!! Fun and creative sandwiches, great salads, and also sides - besides chips and a pickle. :-) The food always arrived fresh and on time - it's a win for sure!
