Food was okay, at least what we got. We had ordered online then went to pick it up. Watched the woman who checked us out count the items on the receipt then count the items in the 2 bags holding our order so didn't bother doing that ourselves. Got home and found one item from our order missing. We divided up the rest of the food with a couple of people sharing with the one who's order was missing while I tried, repeatedly, to reach the store. They finally answered when I pressed 1 to order rather than the 0 to talk to someone. They offered to make it but I wasn't interested in driving the 10 minutes or so each way while everyone else ate so asked to have the item credited to my card. One in our party had suggested that if they were required to deliver the missing item they'd be more careful on the orders. I had told them I'd take it if they delivered but all they could offer was for me to order it through a food delivery service, but they wouldn't pay the fee for that. They did agree to credit my card but didn't offer anything more for their error, so next time we want Costa Vida we'll try another store, which is about the same distance from our house, and see how they do. Those in West Jordan are in luck. When we were up there visiting family we submitted a much larger order and there were no errors. One thing they did was to number each item on the receipt and wrote the number on the top of each corresponding dish so it was not only clear that they had included everything but made it very easy to divide up our 14 items when we got it home. If that was standard for any large order in every store, it would probably have made a difference here. As I said, the food was okay. My enchilada was a bit cold but that might have been because I was dialing rather than eating. The low stars is strictly for the missed item and for the missed opportunity to make me want...
Read moreI’ll start by saying my friends LOVE costa vida, I know they’ve had great experiences. And honestly, it’s a very clean place, very fast, and the staff are extremely friendly, and it’s close to my work which is a plus. I consider myself really understanding when it comes to restaurants, I don’t care about small mistakes, I GET IT, it happens. Unfortunately last year (Arizona, Chandler Location, Grand Opening). Me and my buddy both got food poisoning after eating the grilled steak in our burritos. To make things worse, we were the only ones in line and I even told the cook that he could take his time with it since they were cooking more. I insisted that it didn’t look done, but the young guy swore up and down it was fine, an hour later, I immediately regretted trusting that.
Yes that was a different location, I’ve eaten at the State St location multiple times, and it has been better. But today I came in at 11am to get a sweet pork burrito, and the lady who helped me was very nice. However she accidentally put black beans in when I said pinto (small mistake, I said I don’t even care). The kicker was when I got home, I quickly found out she didn’t know the difference between sweet pork and shredded beef (neither do I but I don’t make the burritos). At least my friend wanted it! (Yikes). For like the simplest process, come onnnn guys... I come to Costa Vida for the sheer fact it’s close, and I only get so much time on my lunch breaks. Fortunately for me there is a Chipotle and a Cafe Rio in the same area, do yourself and choose the better options. Won’t be coming...
Read moreI’ve had a couple of instances at this specific costa vida where I have experienced awful customer service. On this day in particular, I went with my boyfriend to get some dinner. Everything was great and then I got to the register. The lady at the register seemed fairly new since she didn’t have a name tag and only had a Costa Vida Apron on. I didn’t catch her name however. Immediately she cuts me off as I’m asking her how her night has been, and says “what meat did you get” so I told her I got a sweet pork salad. My boyfriend and I were on the same order and as I was going to tell her that he was on my order she spouted off my total. Then I told her that he was on my order. She rolled her eyes and snapped at me saying “well what did he get?” So I told her that he got a small sweet pork salad. Then she tells me my total and as I’m pulling out cash she yells at me and says “the card reader is right here.” So I asked her if cash was okay and she just rolled her eyes again and looked all frustrated so to make it easier on both of us, I just paid with my card. She didn’t give me a receipt and she then told her manager I didn’t pay. So he came up to me and I showed him my bank statement saying it charged my card. We got it sorted out but all I'm saying is don’t work customer service unless you can work well with customers who are trying their best to be...
