Juan Pablo's Bakery — Restaurant in Orem

I don't like to write bad reviews for businesses but I had to make an exception. We went to the bakery March 6th to put in a cake order for Saturday March 14th. We sent them a FB messenger that same day confirming the decorations and date for the cake. My mom and I go in March 14th to pick up the cake, and we get told there is no cake. They find the order form, and we find out the reason why it wasn't made is because the worker who took our order wrote "Saturday March 17th" on the order form.

The reason for the 1 star is, because of the way the situation was handled. When we were told they didn't have the cake ready, my mom and I were very surprised to the news. One of the workers started yelling at my mom telling her to calm down and yelling at my mom that she didn't know how to control her anger (I'm pretty sure this worker is the owner's wife) My mom was upset, but she was keeping her composure and staying respectful. Even after showing the workers the FB messenger confirming the date, they were STILL very defensive and not wanting to take any blame. They just kept saying that the baker only looks at the order form. The order form said Saturday March 17th..March 17th falls on a Tuesday. How they didn't catch that mistake is beyond me. They also said they don't rely on FB messenger for confirming dates. If they don't rely on messenger then why did they ask us to send them a pic if the decorations through there?? They only wanted to blame me for not double-checking the date (since I had taken a pic of the order form.) To top it all off, we could hear the workers diciendo indirectas about our situation to the next customer that went to pick up bolillo Then, the worker who actually took our cake order comes out and all she has to say is "I don't know why I put the wrong date" and walks to the back. No apologies given from her.

We are very appreciative of them being willing to get us our cake in that moment. We got our cake 40 minutes later, after they told us it would only take 20 minutes. The only reason why we stayed for the cake for so long, was because my niece's bday party had already started and she picked out the cake herself. The only reason why I got a discount of not even $10 is because I had to ask. Overall, there was no professionalism in this bakery, and they showed that they did not care that they did not have our cake ready in time. Very...

I had a hankering for a good creamy flan while I was out running errands today. Google maps directed me to a nearby, little out-of-the-way bakery that had flan on the menu, so my 5 yr old daughter and I went in. She was delighted with all the colorful jello desserts and pretty cakes and was so cute! We walked out with my flan and I couldn't wait until we got home, so I opened it right there in the car and shared a bite with my girl before enjoying some myself. I wish I could have recorded her response. For now, just imagine the most excited 5-yr-old intonations: "Mom! This is so good! We have to take some home to share with [sister]! She'll LOVE it! And [cousin], too! I love you, Mom! I love you SO much! I love you more than.... when... before we came to this place. I love you THIS MUCH now forever! I love you more now. Thank you for having me try this!"

She's never had a reaction like this to a food, even a really great one. I'm glad she loves me more now. I hope she remembers this great love when she's a grumpy teenager 😆... after all, she says it's forever.

I will say it's one of the best flans I've ever eaten, and I have loved many a flan. So silky and not too sweet. We later enjoyed a tres leches cake I brought home, and now my niece wants me to take her there for her birthday to get some more....

This places cakes are AMAZING. It’s a shame that the customer service has gone down hill. My dad has gotten my cakes there for years in Orem location , he was even good friends with the owners wife I believe , his name is Dionicio cacho . When he left back to Mexico we continue to get cakes here as a tradition for him . Last couple times we called for a cake the receptionist was extremely rude , doesn’t know what she’s doing , doesn’t know the business. Blocked my moms number and told her to go somewhere else . Now before you think my mom did anything, she had been calling for days trying to get an order of “vanidoso” cake to which the lady didn’t even know they sold them, after telling her the baker was too busy multiple times my mom asked why she couldn’t just let her know if she can get the cake or not . She told her to look somewhere else and blocked her number .

Now again this place was tradition in our family and it sucks having to leave a bad review but I hope the owners see that the receptionist they have isn’t helping...
