I don't usually write reviews, but I had so so many people recommend this place I was so excited to try it. But I guess I just didn't have the same experience. There were a few things that added on top of each other. I will start by saying I tried my sausage first and told my husband it was sooo good! Then I went to my eggsâŠI ordered eggs medium, and when they brought out the plate, the white of the egg had that a snotty texture. They did bring me more, and I felt bad thinking maybe Iâd ordered wrong, but I looked up afterward to see what medium is and the white should have been be cooked. I think I was expecting more from such an expensive restaurant. I was then excited to bite into the blueberry stuffed French toast. I will preface this by saying that I had told the waitress when I was ordering earlier that I was not a fan of lemon (talking about another entree). I asked her if the Mountain blueberry mascarpone stuffed French toast was good and that I loved blueberry! She said it would be a hit! So I ordered and at the first bite noticed it wasâŠlemon. I really wish the menu would have said Lemon blueberry (to me it is very different to me than just blueberry. I could mostly only taste the lemon, and I really donât like it.) and I really wish the waitress would have put that into consideration when I said I donât like lemon and instead steered me away when I asked her about how it tasted! I seriously never complain about food at restaurants, Iâm usually telling the waitress How good it tastes! I felt like a snob and it was embarrassing to did bring up these issues (I was near tears from it allâŠmaybe because it was my birthday and felt more emotional than normal), but it was practically my whole meal, and it was so expensive! I will say that the waitress was sweet from start to finish, and she did bring me a cinnamon roll (saying thatâs the only thing she could do, and I didnât ask for them to replace it, just told her about the lemon thing). But to be honest it was dry and disappointing, (and didnât make up for the expense of my meal). So I donât recommend the cinnamon roll either, and thatâs usually my favorite dessert. I'm usually super happy with the food that I get at restaurants, I'm not picky (except for lemon apparently ha ha), and usually tell the waitress or waiter how good the food is. But I think it was just a series of unfortunate events, the snotty textured egg, the surprise lemon blueberry, the expense, the fact it was my birthday and it was our first time going, (and I was really looking forward to it!) I think all of that just added up to an unpleasant experience and I told my husband after we left I wish I would've chosen something different because we just spent $50 on a meal I barely ate. Maybe the other food is good, maybe other people have had good experiences, but I don't have a strong...
Read moreEmbarking on a family gathering breakfast at TruReligion Pancake and Steakhouse in Orem, Utah, turned out to be an exquisite journey through unique culinary landscapes, enveloped in a setting that radiates its distinguished personality. The restaurant's soulful Art Deco ambiance, enriched by thoughtful interior renovations, presents a vivid backdrop to the culinary masterpieces served.
The menu at TruReligion is a testament to the creativity and passion infused into every dish. My choice, the 10oz prime cattleman cut, was a revelation in the realm of steak and eggs - tender, flavorful, and perfectly complemented by a savory butter blend and back bacon, eliminating any need for additional seasoning.
Our table was a mosaic of TruReligion's unique breakfast offerings - from the indulgent Eggs Ben âAddictionâ to the visually stunning Mixed Berry Dutch Baby, and the hearty Western Omelet to âTheâ Strawberry Waffle. The portions were not only generous but crafted with an attention to detail that turned each plate into a visual and gustatory delight, particularly the Dutch Baby, which was a showstopper.
Despite visiting on a busy Monday morning, our early arrival meant we were seated promptly, though we noticed a burgeoning crowd by the time we departed, a clear sign of the establishment's burgeoning popularity.
Patience is a virtue here, as the wait for our food, though longer than some might expect, was rewarded with dishes that clearly spoke of freshness and meticulous preparation. A standout was their specialty cinnamon roll, an unparalleled concoction of flavors and textures that easily topped my list of the best cinnamon rolls ever savored.
A note for those with hearing difficulties; the vibrant atmosphere tends towards the louder side, which posed a challenge for the hard-of-hearing members of our group.
TruReligion not only serves breakfast but also serves a slice of Utah's rich history, with renovations that pay homage to the state's storied culinary past. This touch of cultural preservation adds an enriching layer to the dining experience.
In conclusion, TruReligion Pancake and Steakhouse is a destination worthy of multiple visits, not just for its culinary excellence but for the opportunity to step into a space that beautifully marries the art of food with the art of preservation. I eagerly anticipate my next visit, ready to dive deeper into their menu. This is a must-visit for anyone looking to explore the best of Orem's...
Read moreThere is only one TruReligion ~ it will always be the one that gets you to Heaven. Your Heaven. Defining Heaven is and can be difficult when there is so much good to choose from. We canât have it all! (At once). I find a Brioche stuffed French Toast is a premier start to any Pearly Gate and yet I had to let the hot chocolate cloud âïž float away in favor of a caffeine free (who needs caffeine in Heaven?) root beer đș eliciting a gasp of âOh my goodness!â , when a HUGE mug of the frothy delight arrived. Huge as in âany Texan would be pleased!â True to form it was the real stuff. And the right stuff to get juices flowing and palate stimulated. Good thing- we were through the gates yet not to the throne.
Now keep in mind I have a secure and pious relationship with the True God above and I attest that the Heavens have a sense of humor. That and the fact that we are sitting smack in the heart of a religious community- if all was not in fun and jest it is assured that fiery brimstone and hail would have interceded by now. Not the situ - this place was packed to the brim with a serious wait list in play.
Who would pay $6 for an 8 ounce oj? I would easily when the owner confirmed the sweet nectar was freshly squeezed that morning and an artistic presentation in a chilled fluted glass adorned w fresh slices of oranges lets one know we are taking our dining to the next level up. And up we did go! With blueberry đ« (fresh! I saw them unloaded from the supply truck đ»)! Stuffed French toast and crispy golden hash browns ! My dining date shared a butter pecan pancake đ„ and my stomach said full although it wanted additional! No problem ~ leftovers were taken home for another Dining Delight recap! Oh la la! Will we be back again? Who wouldnât want to be in Heaven ? ( wait, donât answer that!, no red tailed, đŽforked tongued đ devils here! ) Just Heavenly Breakfast/Lunch, the way life is meant to be! Of course weâll be back...
