Parlor Doughnuts — Restaurant in Orion Charter Township

Our first time here and we loved it! When we first walked in, the younger staff member didn’t seem to be super passionate about the products so we almost left just because we didn’t know what we wanted and the display case was empty and she wasn’t really recommending anything…but then a guy came out and was amazing. He was the owners son in law I believe. He gave us a sample of the coconut cream donut and my husband who doesn’t like coconut thought it was great. We purchased 2 coffees, the iced Mayan mocha and the iced maple brown sugar latte with oat milk. Both were a solid 8.5/10. They were great. The donuts we got were the chocolate chocolate and the blueberry. These were the absolute best donuts we have ever had. Easily a 10/10. The dough is incredible and the toppings seemed super high quality. They didn’t have an artificial taste whatsoever. They actually made them fresh in the back. If it weren’t for the owners son in laws passion for the product and recommendations and just telling us about parlor doughnuts in general we truly would have left. He was awesome and very personable and it was exciting to see to see someone love what they do! I don’t blame the staff member, she was young and seemed shy. But I do think a little extra product knowledge and personality wouldn’t hurt.

I visited this place for the first time this morning on my way in to work. Two other folks were in the business; one gentleman was working on his computer and a woman was waiting on her order. Four workers were pacing back and forth behind the counter. I waited, and wauted, and waited, and wated for the front of the house to acknowledge me and take my order for a doughnut and coffee. The young gal working the counter never focusused on me and instead was chatting about something with a coworker and they both left their positions at the registers. After waiting at the counter for approximately 4 minutes - I left. First impressions are important - there are other plages to get a coffee and doughnut at. Aknowledge your customer (Heck the place was empty) Take the order - You are the front of the house Let managers handle all the rest...

When I say these are the best donuts I’ve ever eaten in my life that’s gotta be worth something considering I’ve eaten my share of donuts out there. Nothing compares to these donuts. They’re like a Cronut dipped in sugar then some are just topped with delicious and decadent icings and some are also filled. They are not overly sweet at all. Superb spot to grab a donut and coffee, I got the seasonal holiday custard filled with an egg nog custard and the glad tidings iced coffee, both were delightful, but I also got a bunch of other flavors of donuts and the peanut butter chocolate one, my fav by far!
