A LAKE ORION TREASURE: PHO STREET
I've waited a bit to share this story but I think it's time. I have kept what i expect to become a Lake Orion Legend to myself. Sharing with just close friends and bringing them one at a time .. To PHO Street
Quaint clean restaurant.. FABULOUS Family.. Top notch personal service And nothing short of MAGICAL food👀😳💖
While there take a minute to actually soak in and witness what is happening in that "small" space.
The truth is that the 1st time I went I had never had Vietnamese food.. I asked a lot of questions about the food and then when it got to the table how to eat it lol
I had been ill for 10 days... And yes I chose to eat food I had never had before🤣 Must have been God-given guidance because.. at the 1st sip of whatever that was (Pho soup) i could feel every fiber and cell in my body jump for joy. No lie . I have never had an experience like that in my life! Maybe it was because I was so ill that I could feel that sort of thing that day. I knew I had been healed in an instant.😳😍 Absolute true story. I don't know if they pray over their food or if it's the clear love for what they do.. but it certainly is reflected in the food AND service.
An absolute destination "go to". Worth my 45 minute drive. Healed in a sip.. are you kidding me.. How is THAT not worth the $10 and drive for the amount of fabulous homemade fresh food! Who knows what a cumulative effect this food has for healing. That's my personal story.
They've already been asked to expand and they will not. They want to take care of what they can take care of themselves. Its perfect..And they do it brilliantly! Wait till you see who's helping at the tables🥰
You know?.. As I think a little more on it... maybe it's some sort of Grandmother energy in the sky from the ancients working through this family. I can't explain it. But I don't want to live without it (or them🙂). 🕊
They don't know my name but you can tell them The lady in the "cowboy...
Read moreLet me start off by saying this place is very cramped and not the cleanest. You could tell the water they used to clean the tables were barely changed nor had any cleaning solutions to take away from the horrid smell. Smoothies that were said to be made fresh and not powdered tastes like medicine and was far from fresh. The pho was mid and crazy overpriced, had more broth than noodles. This place used to be good but I don’t know what happened to it. I usually don’t write reviews, but what really ticked me off was when I was getting ready to leave, I gave them the benefit of the doubt. I was going to tip them $5 even with my poor experience and the owner just snatches my $10 bill from my hand and throws it in the tip jar. When asked for some change he smiles and said “Yes!” We literally stood there for a couple of minutes of awkwardness and I said “f$&@ it just keep it”. Don’t come here for this mediocre Vietnamese food! Take a few extra minutes or hours to go to another Vietnamese place that’ll probably be better serviced and better quality food and cleanliness. I wished I would of took a photo of how little of noodles I got because I know my review won’t give it any justice because everyone before me had amazing portions in theres, but trust me when I say we did not get the same results. People who are saying this is the best place for pho must have never had actual good pho or made pho before. I get this place is a small business or family owned but that doesn’t make this place the best tasting. This might of only been today but if I was a new customer who never had this place before, I would have been very disinterested in ever trying this type of cuisine ever again. It only takes one bad experience to ruin a persons outlook on some things and this was mines....
Read moreMy partner and I are both foodies, we love checking out any and all restaurants and we are both so glad we went here. As soon as we had walked in we could tell it was a relaxed atmosphere. There was music from YouTube being played on a TV, everyone eating looked satisfied. With the fun paintings, twinkling lights, and plant vines hanging across the windows the atmosphere felt lived in and homie. I have a shellfish allergy, which usually can be a problem at asian restaurants. But our server/I believe the owner was incredibly kind. I am lucky usually if servers know which foods are cooked in the same oils so I tend to feel a bit anxious eating. As soon as I told him of my allergy he told me that I could order anything I want on the menu. That he would make sure to make any replacement and that I would be safe there. He had conversations with us about choices he made with the restaurant, he was incredibly kind when we were leaving. Even packing the food for us and offering us drinks to go. I can't remember the last time we had service this nice. My partner and I were so relaxed there, he got some lovely ginger tea and I got a mango smoothie made with real mango! Both of them were incredible. I got the vegetarian phu with chicken broth. I usually am adverse to the taste of unseasoned vegetables, but after a few bites I realized how incredibly refreshing it was. I had an upset stomach going there and by the time I had left it had calmed down significantly. We are upset that we have only just found this place before moving. Don't make the same mistake as us and wait to...
