My husband and I go out for breakfast almost every Sunday with a special friend. We saw that Eggsperts Breakfast and Lunch Cafe had recently opened when we were visiting a nearby restaurant. We decided to return on Sunday. The place is very bright and clean inside. Special care is taken with each entry: Temperatures were taken, social distancing was observed, and a QR code was on the table for those that did not want to touch a menu.
I’m not a big breakfast person. I’m all about having a good cup of coffee and a lunch item. The coffee was excellent and was served in a small clear glass cup. I personally do not like glass coffee cups, but that’s my problem. There were plenty of refills to be had of coffee, so the size of the cup was not an issue. I usually order a salad, but I thought I would try something different. I went for a breakfast pizza that was basically mozzarella cheese with thyme oregano and sesame seeds on a light crust. I had asked our waitress, Taylor, how were the eggs in the pizza... I meant, were there a lot of them and overpowering the herbs and cheese? She said she never heard any complaints about them being too eggy. Later we found out that all the other breakfast pizzas did have eggs, so I picked the right one for me, no eggs. I found out that the recipe for the breakfast pizza was the owner’s mother’s personal recipe. I suggested to the owner, MJ, that it would be good with a tomato on top. He said that us how he likes it. My suggestion would be, if you order the breakfast pizza, it is really enough for two to split OR three or four if you just want a light bite. You could always order something else to go with it. I only ate two pieces. Another suggestion: you might want to try one of their many healthy smoothies.
My husband ordered a German pancake with fruit as pictured. Our friend wanted a half order of French toast, but there are no half orders, so he ordered a full order with a side of bacon. He raved about the bacon being so good and even forgot to order it the way he likes it, soft. My suggestion would be to have half orders of some of these dishes for seniors.
We definitely will be coming back to try some of the other unusual items. They are also listed on Facebook with their menu. UPDATE: I had my breakfast pizza leftovers the next day with some homemade stew tomatoes on top, and it...
Read moreReply to owner Thank you for replying to my review. It shows that you care. Unfortunately, your response is full of excuses without a sign of action to improve. The reason for my visit was due to all the positive reviews... But it seems they may have been EGGsagerated. For a new restaurant to be open you would want everything to be perfect. That's what creates return business. It's a shame, I had high hopes. As far as combating issues with the current pandemic. I applaud you for some of the measures your taking. Yet once again, disappointment sets in when you watch members of the staff come out of the back with their masks only covering the mouth and not the nose, and vice versa. Or even worse, removing their masks when talking to patrons. My daughter asked me, "dad, are they going to take our temperature?" I shrugged my shoulders. Only half of the patrons were checked. A second look at your clean and hygienic establishment needs to be addressed. I will not be returning, but hope you take some of my comments to adjust and improve on future customer visits. Bottom line, your staff failed you. I wish you the best of luck. Original review 8/30/20 I enjoy the creativity that goes into naming new breakfast restaurants. Unfortunately, this place is far from being "Eggsperts" as the name may suggest. My favorite thing about this place is they don't hard boil eggs... A place called "Eggsperts", Can't hard boil eggs. The place looked nice. Booths looked comfy. I sat at one of the poker tables, I waited but the waitress didn't deal out any cards. Cold coffee, floating objects in water, and dirty utensils. One will question their cleanliness and quality control. The food... Was ok, warmed buttered white bread passed off as toast, and a skillet that lacked flavor. The hash brown in that skillet were frozen cold. Let's not forget, or I should say let's forget some side items that were ordered. Bacon should come out with the food not with the check. Service was ok, the waitress tried, that's probably the only positive about this place other then being in the same plaza as Mo's Chinese Kitchen. I should've just made...
Read moreVery disappointing first impression from a brand new restaurant. I called in my order for pick up and they said it would be ready in 15-20 minutes. We get there, it’s not even very busy and one entree is right and the other entree is wrong. So we waited for them to correct the order. We even heard someone go into the back kitchen and say “what’s going on? It’s not even busy” so already they have issues with the cooks. The ticket was written up correctly so clearly it was the cooks that don’t care, but the hostess didn’t seem to care either that the order was wrong. We didn’t even order anything outrageous. I ordered an eggs Benedict and they gave me pancakes.. COMPLETELY wrong. I also ordered the Benedict with a side of fruit, and they gave me hash browns (the ticket said sub fruit no hash browns). On top of that, the eggs were pretty much hard boiled when I received them. So not only the order was wrong to begin with, but we waited double the time for them to correct the order for it to be poorly prepared.
This was a very disappointing experience. They made the order wrong and didn’t care to properly make the order right when the restaurant was slow. It’s kind of sad they have this attitude and first impression as a brand new breakfast place when they are competing with lumes right across the street that’s been there for years and always has great service. There are also a good number of old and new breakfast places in the area that have much better service and food quality than this. I wouldnt even use COVID as an excuse because I’ve ordered breakfast to go a few times now from other places and all have been fine. I will not...
