I have been a loyal customer of El Famous Burrito for MANY MANY YEARS, dating all the way back to when they first opened in Orland Park. It's a real shame that I will no longer be giving them my business all due to the attitude of one smart ass worker and his refusal to replace an order that their cook messed up.

My family and I ordered various items on Sunday May 22nd at the Tinley Park location (roughly a $40 order). Part of our order was THREE SHRIMP TACOS ON FLOUR TORTILLAS. I watched the order taker write the order correctly....verified that it said FLOUR tortillas on the order ticket...and sat down and waited for the order.

When I got the order home, they had made the tacos with CORN tortillas. It might not sound like a big deal, but I can't stand corn tortillas. By the time I got home, the restaurant was closed. I called them today and told the guy who answered the phone what happened. He asked me if I wanted credit and I agreed.

I went to the Tinley Park location to pick up the replacement tacos at about 4:20pm and a guy behind the counter started trying to negotiate with me. First he says that he'll give me one free taco, but I refused. Then he offers two but REFUSES to replace all three. He asks me where the bad tacos were. I told him that I threw them out because they were made incorrectly. At this point, he reaches BEHIND THE COUNTER and produces a tiny 3 inch by 3 inch sign that said you must return any incorrect orders in order to get credit, then stood there grinning. He states that this is their policy and he won't replace the tacos. I am BEYOND angry. I won't be going back to El Famous...

We normally enjoy the food from this location. Our last visit bad...my son went in while I waited in the car. It took nearly 40 minutes. While waiting he felt someone took his order. The counter lady said your order is coming. The upshot is when we finally got home and o pened the bag..realized it was not our order. Immediately we called and were told to come back..they'd correct the order no charge. Weather was nasty and we were headed back when we realized we would not have time to get there because my son needed to get to work. I called from my car and was put on hold. Three times I called. Each time the phone was set down Finally on my fourth call I just got a busy signal.I made three calls after that still with a busy signal. We. were not able to return until two days later. When my son tried asking about getting a corrected order, He was told there were no refunds.Further they did not believe him. He was told the woman he spoke to over the phone was on her way in to the store. She arrived with several policemen who told my son he'd have to leave and could no longer be and could not come back on their premises. Needless to say he was shaken. They did give him one burrito. But our order was $30.84. Two burritos, an order of nachos, and guacamole with chips. I would not be so ticked at them had they not made it impossible to speak with them the first night. We went back two days later thinking they'd honor their offer and correct their mistake. Way to distance customers. None of us will...

Man look here El Famous Burrito goes super crazy!!! Listen I got a steak burrito from here and a chicken Diablo burrito from here. The steak wasn't for me but that chicken burrito was all world. The chicken burrito was spicy with this hot sauce on it and it was super delicious. It's very rarely that I would give a burrito such high ratings but the El Famous Burrito is on a whole different planet. The customer service was on point and the staff were real friendly. The wait time wasn't super long and they gave you exactly what you ordered so they got the order right. When I got home I was mad I didn't order two extra burritos. Now keep in mind when I placed my order for my burrito I generally don't get any lettuce or tomatoes or beans on the burrito and I get the sour cream always on the side. The reason for this is that when you reheat burritos the lettuce gets weird and the sour cream gets a little weird so I always get this stuff on the side. I can say this, if there was a best burrito contest in the Chicagoland area I can promise you that Diablo burrito from El Famous Burrito would be in the top five choices. My only issue with El Famous Burrito are the locations. I'm not campaigning for them to put one in the South Suburban area because this one is in Tinley Park but it wouldn't hurt to have one closer to I-57. In closing I'll say the El famous burrito and that's spicy Diablo burrito is everything. I'll be going back this week to grab two. Now the question is will I be...

A true Chicago legend just like Harry Carrie, Mayor Daley Jr, Patrick Kane, Michael Jordan or the empire carpet guy. An underdog in a corporate world of fast food offerings. Especially in today's market with Chipotle getting in on the game. It's hard to believe these guys have been around for over 30 years. A local option and now a daily staple in all Chicagoans diets... Can this be traditional Mexican food? What is the true definition of traditional Mexican food can it be el famous burrito? They are the gold standard for Mexican food in the Chicagoland region possibly even the tri-state region. Always a good time to visit el famous burrito. whether it's 9:00am on your way to your attorney's office before your court case or 4:30 am when the corner bar kicks you out again for being loud again. Great for a quick lunch bite. Good prices, selection, portion sizes, & horchata. Hot sauce is hot. Fast & friendly service. The entire menu is on the wall like it must/needs to be. The largest selection of authentic Mexican dining can be found here outside of the Sierra Madre Occidental. Always open I don't think they have keys to the front door they never close. Parking is fair just don't expect to park a cta bus out front. Always a party with traditional Duranguense music playing proudly on the Hi-Fi stereo sound system.

Very disappointed lately. Last time we ordered, the steak was charred and not edible. Today we made a to go order. Big family! $130. Something we have not been doing lately due to cancer issues and finances. When my son returned home, the bottom of the bag was saturated with grease and was breaking. All of the taco and burritos were coated in grease! The tortillas were filled with grease. We had a few special orders. NOTHING was marked correctly. In fact, the foil had writing on it and then things were crossed out so we had to open the burritos which made a bigger mess. I tried to eat half and just wound up throwing the food out. Sad and disappointing experience. Not sure if we will come back. We live in Alsip, so to return back to Tinley with the food wasn’t happening tonight.

If i could leave no stars I wouldn’t 😡😡🤮 I ordered 8 steak tacos and a large 🍟 though Uber eats and my bag came stapled I opened the bag lifting the tacos up and see a baby roach 🪳 crawling at the bottom of the bag 🤮I called the restaurant and a lady answered the phone so as I’m telling her all she kelp saying was OMG the manager finally gets on the phone and once I started explaining to him what was inside the bag the first thing he said was I’m sorry miss but we have inspections monthly NO apologies or anything, so where the roach come from? So on April 7, 2023 the manager of the restaurant called me back and threaten me telling me to take the review down or he’s not going to give me my money back, I’ve contacted the health department
