Just got back from this place. Been there a number of times before with my family for breakfast. Mainly have gone for breakfast because it's large and you can always get in - plus breakfast food is usually hard to screw up. Food is usually okay at best, though today it was quite poor. Service is usually fairly good, though it was bad today as well. My wife had a salad plate, and the plate was hot - which makes a salad pretty unappealing. I ordered my hash browns "burnt". The waitress didn't bother to write it down, and sure enough the hash browns were underdone. I sent them back, and she came back within 30 seconds (which was suspicious) with hash browns that looked more well-done than the original batch. They tasted like they'd been sitting in grease for quite a long time - not sure if they just threw my original hash browns into a deep fryer for a few seconds or if they had been sitting on a greasy grill for awhile. My daughter ordered coffee, and was never offered a refill. When I went to pay, the woman (owner?) never asked me if everything was okay. (Even at crappy restaurants, they ask that question.) I mentioned to her that she'd not asked me if everything was okay, and she said, "Are you the guy with the problem with the hash browns?" It was apparent from her tone that she considered the problem to be my issue, not hers. I was prepared to give her more feedback about my other observations, but she was clearly not interested and just said, "Sometimes things happen." I was taken aback by her rudeness and attitude. No, "I'm sorry sir", and clearly no attempt to try to make amends for my bad experience.
It appears from an earlier review as well as my experience that the owners of this place really don't care about their clientele, and are inclined to be defensive at best and argumentative at worst when a customer has a complaint. There are many other options in the area (Bakers Square is right next door; IHOP and Dennys are down the block) where you can get a better meal and better service for roughly the same money. Why put up with this place and these people? I...
ย ย ย Read moreIโll be fair. My family and I have been coming here for as long as I can remember. I have never had a problem I have always had wonderful things to say about this place and Iโve referred many people here over the years. A few days ago my husband and I placed an order for the Gyro dinner plate and of course we are only human we make mistakes we forget things and thatโs totally ok I get that. So the meal comes with fries the tiziki sauce and soups and the plate. There was 3 coleslaw unsure if thatโs something new, 1 tziki sauce and the fries were missing. Now, I live about 20 minutes from the restaurant and I didnโt want to inconvenience anyone by going back even though the lady was nice enough to offer to bring it to me that meant a lot but we just decided to let it go and so I called and they said I can come pick up the sauce and fries the next day. So I did, there was 3 sauce in it and 2 OUT OF three had HAIR in it. Now I totally get that it happens!!! But that was the second issue the soup wasnโt a big deal it was spilled all over but whatever. Now when I called the day I found the hair it happened to be the owner so he was very very nice understanding and apologetic which I felt him being sincere and he offered a $25 gift card. BUT when I went to pick it up right now the lady who prepared my order the other day was standing there and tried to give me an attitude or belittle/outsmart me and I wasnโt having it. She said โyou know I put your food together and I put everything in thereโ no maโam you did not. You put 3 coleslaw 1 tziki sauce and missing fries so of course for a $19 order yeah Iโm going to get annoyed when Iโm being looked at as if Iโm a liar trying to get something โFREEโItโs all about accountability and I know what was missing and the hair I was seeing. So yeah please check your orders prior to leaving and donโt allow anyone to attempt giving you an attitude or make you look like a liar. Although my family and I decided on dinner here tomorrow after that incident no thank you. Iโll take my business elsewhere. Have a great...
ย ย ย Read moreA solid choice for a pleasant dining experience. ๐ฝ ๐ Southfork has been around for decades so they must be doing something right. Whatever your choice, you can find it here. Breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Comfort food to international dishes. Meat laden offerings to vegetarian dishes. The menu is huge. On my most recent trip here (Dec. 2018) I stopped in for breakfast. I had the Denver omelet with added ingredients (tomatoes and mushrooms), hashbrowns, pancakes, and toast. The omelet was perfectly sized, perfectly prepared, and perfectly delicious. ๐ณ ๐ท ๐ ๐ ๐ The pancakes also left me and my belly smiling. ๐ฅ ๐ ๐ I didn't see a diced potato option on the menu so I had the hashbrowns that are almost universally served with breakfast meals at most restaurants. I'm not a huge fan of the shredded-potato type hashbrowns, so the highest compliment I can give these (or any) hashbrowns is to say they weren't greasy nor were they dry - a bit of pepper and everything's fine. The coffee โ was superb as was the service. My server that day was Amanda, whom I believe is clairvoyant, for every time my coffee cup ran low she was there, in the most timely fashion, to refill it with brew. Amazing Amanda! ๐ฑโโ๏ธ ๐ There's a dessert/sweets case at the entrance with many options to choose from. ๐ฅฎ ๐ฐ ๐ If you're in the area or heading that way, Southfork is worth...
