While the mall itself is fine, I want to bring attention to a run in I had with security that I am deeply bothered by. I allowed my 10 year old and 17 year old to go into the mall by themselves, unaware of the age policy on Fridays and Saturdays. I made my way into the mall and did a couple loops looking for my sister and daughter. I trust my sister to walk around the mall a bit with my daughter and wasnât concerned. I was not aware right away that I was not getting good signal on my phone. My sister had been repeatedly calling and texting me trying to tell me they were getting kicked out for being underage and the calls were not making it through to me until I went back to the entrance. It had been about 40 minutes until I found them, luckily out by the car. I will tell the story according to my sister and daughterâs account. My sister and daughter told me how an older security guard (63yo women) found them near the entrance of JCPenney and asked them if they had an adult with them and informed them of the policy and they would need to go back to the doors to wait for me. As the security officer followed them to the door, she eventually turned off so my sister and daughter turned toward the escalators instead and came looking for me. They went through a couple stores that I frequent. When leaving Pacsun, they came face to face with the same security guard who asked them where I was. My sister said she tried to explain sheâs been calling me and the calls werenât going through and pulled up my location to show the officer they were trying to follow my location and get to me. The officer dismissed them and cut her off and escorted her to the exit on the complete opposite side of the mall. They said at one point they made a wrong turn and the security guard said âeh eh eh to the doorâ while motioning to the door. And they both say the security guard said âyou can call your sister when you get outside.â They passed a table with two police officers, there was NO COMMUNICATION between the police officers and my children, the security guard gave my kids no further instructions beyond âto the door.â They state the security guard then spoke to the police officers and motioned toward my kids as they went outside. My kids felt they had no other option but to actually leave the mall. They were not offered help to call me from anyone elseâs phone, they were NOT told they could stay inside the mall by the police officers while waiting for me, dismissed when trying to show my location to the security guard. They were give NO INSTRUCTIONS other than âto the door!â They have recounted this story multiple times and are firm In this. When I found my sister and daughter, they had just walked the entire perimeter of the mall which is dangerous for SO MANY REASONS. While my sister is very competent, my daughter is TEN YEARS OLD. A small child. I spoke to a great police officer who got me the administrator of security. I got no apology from him and only âour policies.. blah blah blah.â He was dismissive and ignorant. Iâm sure you know the type. A mall cop. Thinks heâs cool. Got nowhere with him. Later hunted down the guard my kids interacted with. I wasnât nice but I wasnât disrespectful. She was immediately arrogant, rude and overall nasty attitude. Told me to âget my hand out of her faceâ when I did not get in her face. She then told her side of the story where she completely gaslighted my kids and lied. Told me how she offered them many options and avenues to remedy this. How she never told them to leave and told them they could stay inside by the police officers. Said she offered to help them find me. This is not true. She cut off my sister when she tried to speak to defend herself. She scoffed, smirked, rolled her eyes, shook her head, like she was so much better than us. She was a despicable human. Thereâs so many more details I have no room to add. Hopefully parents can read between the lines and understand why this was SO INAPPROPRIATE. Iâm disgusted by the lack of professionalism...
Read moreI go to this mall at least twice a week and these are the things I noticed: 1. There are no parking lot signs inside this mall and no maps available at the mall (only a map online that doesnât give me clear parking lot instruction/exit and entrances) It took me about 30 minutes to finally find the exit to my parking lot in the upper level. I usually park in the lower level because itâs easier for me since the mall has no parking lot signs inside.
The bathrooms in this mall are always so disgusting. The womenâs restroom never has hand soap when I go there. Toilet paper on the floor in almost every stall, dirty toilets and they seem not to be cleaned often throughout the day.
Awful food. Low food standards. The food court is dark, has terrible lighting and doesnât have Chipotle, Popeyes, and more food options like other malls. The food court has Taco Bell, some random burger place, Panda Express, a Korean hot dog place (not the best hot dogs I tried them before) Japanese food (which is a nice option to have I havenât tried it yet). I went to the Starbucks by the food court a couple times and my drinks didn't taste good and I even saw the customer who was in front of me complain about her coffee being cold. Boba at this mall isnât good either. I went to two places that had boba and their smoothies were not fresh and tasted awful. Tapioca wasnât the best and one of the stores had no tapioca at all even though they advertised they did.
No where to sit down. they have 0 benches at this mall except seats at the food court but not everyone wants to sit down and eat. I often see people sitting at massage chairs which makes me incredibly upset because people have to literally sit on gross massage chairs (are they even cleaned?) because the mall doesnât provide us who sometimes shop there for hours with a bench. Why a mall does not have actual places for people to sit down without being the food court? No one should have to walk all the way to the food court just to find a place to sit down.
Outdated stores and stores closing. Forever 21 closed here. I also saw another store doing a full store sale (literally every item marked down) and it made me think they might be closing too. Please add more stores that people want and food places as well like a nice boba cafe and stores like Uniqlo and healthier options to eat and more things to do like an arcade inside the mall.
Positive things about this Mall: They have a Miniso which has a lot of nice products. Pop Mart will open a store at the mall as well which Iâm excited for. Thereâs a Cheesecake Factory which I know a lot of...
