Husband and I stopped in with my brother in law yesterday for dine-in. We usually order as take-out and the food is REALLY good. Tastes just as authentic as my grandma's home cooking. Our dine-in experience wasn't as great as our usual take-out experiences. I agree with most that they take a really long time. Service was super slow and there weren't that many people dining in. Most of the orders were being picked up. So we weren't happy with the long wait. We had to ask for water and utensils and it took a while to get such basics. My brother in law's sopes were over fried and rock hard. He couldn't finish them. We have never ever had an issue with the food so we were surprised and honestly, we just let it go. We didn't mention it and we will continue to order from Pueblito. Aside from the wait, the place does smell bad and it isn't cleaning chemicals. It smells like sewage. I don't think we can go back for dining in because it made me want to gag. If they work on the service and the smell, this place would be killing it. The food is amazing. We will continue to order for pick up only. They have some of the best gorditas I've ever had, the quesadillas con carne are really good too! My husband ordered the molcajete dish and he said it was one of the best he has had. The portions are definitely bigger when you order for pick up. This is a little gem in Orland park when it comes to the food. Definitely order...
Read moreI've been here twice so far and I've thought the food was good, authentic unlike something from Pepes (fake Mexican food). It's been pretty empty, although not completely, when i've been there but I do have to agree that they do take quiet a bit longer than most for having almost no one there. Could be due to there hardly being anyone there working but have to give them props for trying with minimal help. Otherwise I would have given them 5 stars. Although I am unsure of how much quicker the food prep would be on a busy day or night. No complaints about the service, just the time it took. And for the ones that have stated in the past about the smell, you obviously have never cleaned with bleach. It wouldn't hurt them to use other cleaning products that smelled better though. I will be coming back here when I am in the mood for Mexican food since I work...
Read moreWalked in and got a table right away. The server was out almost immediately to greet us and take an order for drinks. I did need to ask for more ice to add to the margarita. But the flavor was fresh and not sweet. You're given chips and house salsa with 2 bottles of sauces as well. The green salsa had the best flavor with a little bit of sweetness to it. We ordered the elore and guacamole. Both were good. For dinner we ordered the Shrimp Empanadas and the Bistec Ranchero. The Empanadas were good and the meat on the Ranchero was super tender. The sauce is spicy which they say on the menu, but filled with flavor. And not your traditional red sauce on a ranchero which I liked. Only bad part was I did think the sauce was over salty but definitely edible. Rice was very flavorful and beans needed a little salt. But overall definitely would come back. Great service...
