Wednesday 11/22 Wife mentioned this Firebirds place she wanted to try. I'm game so long as the menu is right. Man... she read the menu and it was game on from the ride there. At one point she mentioned Egg Rolls... This will come back later on in the review.
The server, right off the bat got our drinks in under 5 minutes. Got the brewed tea. Got the lemons with it. (this will come back also later on).
Wife ordered Salmon, I ordered Cajun Steak. I ordered Carrot Cake (should of asked if it had nuts... I went to town removing them as it was sooooooo gooood. The Caramel....... Yumms! but something was way better read more... Wife ordered Choclate cake thingy - this thing is massive which justifies the price. I ordered street corn which was good, loaded potato, also good but it did miss the butter or there wasn't enough... idk..., and I had the chicken soup thingy. That soup is smoldering hot. I couldn't eat it until after my steak arrived, and partially eaten. Its good, but dang... its hot...
Kids Chicken strips, tater tots, and organic juice. Wife Coffee.
So lets begin. Salmon was cooked perfectly. It's not carmelized like Flemmings, but its better than Season 52. I think its a matter of what your in the mood for. Caramelizing Salmon isn't always preferred. Me personally I like both. Wife is the same on this. Sometimes moist not melting is ideal. This was seasoned just right. Steak. The Cajun steak was really good. I found out AFTERWARDS there is another one garlic herb type butter. It's not on the menu but I would of preferred that over the Cajun. The Cajun IS great too, but I am totally a fan of anything garlic. So thats next visit. The steak is SOOOO MOIST. Omg... I haven't had one like it since Ruth's in Georgia and it was the Tomahawk. This Ribeye with Cajun butter, I thought it might of been the butter that did it. NOPE. I had parts without the butter and on POINT. I asked for Medium (Pink). It was a tad bit darker but ffs no way in hell was I returning that flavored steak. No way.
Prior to the Steak arrival. My wife went to bathroom with son, and a drop off of Egg Rolls came to our table. These things were massive, and I was like yoink I am gonna try one of these things. Man..... these things are like a crack addiction. Wife shows up and said "Oh you ordered Egg Rolls" my mouth all watery and I said "No I thought you did" at that point we knew something was mistaken. Server came over Derrick and said "Oh they brought the egg rolls to the wrong table.." Much to their benefit, before we left we got 2 orders of these things to go for our Movie night. The cheese, the meat, the crunchiness, the flavors were OMG amazing.
I will say though, getting them to go, may wanna poke holes in the lids to let the moisture out. Its what we did as I have learned when crunchy breaded things go home they get all moist and ruin the crunchiness. Either this or take the lid off and hold them. If you do the hole method, get home, do NOT refrigerate them. The roll piece becomes not so good afterwards. Eat same day.
The carrot cake, so this big square with frosting and nuts (sadly), and caramel. So good. I had to take home cause I can only handle so much sweet in one sitting.
The service. So the lady whom brought my mistaken egg rolls which were AMAZING, and she had also informed me about the garlic herb butter for the steak. She was supper friendly, happy and very quick. She advised on some other things my wife wants to try. Derrick (I am not sure if I spelled it right). This guy was on top of his game. He was friendly, responsive to refills WITHOUT having to ask for it, brought lemons as I LOVE my lemons with my tea, and stayed on top of everything from begging to end. We had 1 hiccup as I didn't know the soup came with Sour Cream and he fixed that supper quick.
I haven't had great service since 2019 at Flemmings. This broken the cycle. Thank you Derrick. Great food AND...

The combination of the smoky taste from the wood-fired grill and the simple yet savory toppings created a harmonious marriage of flavors. The hamburger bun was fresh and had a nice texture, which complemented the juicy patty exceptionally well. It is safe to say that Firebird Wood Fired Grill's Durango Hamburger exceeded my expectations and left me longing for more. My wife's Chicken Penne was equally impressive. Read moreI celebrated my 51st b-day on 9/30/23 & this was the worst experience I’ve ever had at any restaurant. My daughter was the one who made the reservation for around 15 to 20 people and communicated with the manager; Joey Forster. She called the restaurant and was told for a large party to email Joey, which she had never heard of before. Once she exchanged numbers with Joey through email, he told her the time she originally wanted was taken, but he would squeeze her in. She appreciated that, but he then told her everyone had to pick from the same limited menu, which he provided three options for. So everyone had to get the same appetizer, pick from three entrees, and the get same dessert. He then told her it all had to be under one check. My daughter had never heard of either of those things before, but couldn't argue with Joey on his policy. The day of the dinner, Firebirds called my daughter to make sure we were still coming, and she confirmed yes. My daughter then told them that there would be fewer people showing up than originally stated. When we arrived at Firebirds for dinner, we were seated in a completely different area than what my daughter was told. She was told by Joey that we would be in the patio area, instead, we were put in a corner with tables that didn't fit 9 people, were made for happy hour, and everyone was sitting at separate tables. I then asked Joey since there were only 9 people if we could use the regular menu of the restaurant instead of the limited menu. He told us yes, but still stated it had to be under one check. That didn't make sense to any of us and only ended up confusing everyone in the end. We’ve been to plenty of restaurants that have split checks between 9 people or more. The food was HORRIBLE! Joey told us we would get the dessert FREE, only to be charged $52. I chose Firebirds because I've visited the ones in Atlanta and Jacksonville. I had great experiences at those locations, but I will never visit the Orlando location again, nor recommend anyone else to go. My entire party was not happy & felt the...
