The Highlights: The Harry P Leu Gardens - beautiful & well maintained. Clean bathrooms & nice gift shop. Great place to take photos as well. I would have given this place five stars IF the customer service was satisfactory.
This review does not reflect on the gardens but the staff & customer service for a wedding venue our friends paid for to have their wedding. I would NOT recommend this place as a wedding venue. Our friends selected the garden as their wedding venue and experienced problems immediately. It is a 12 hour drive from our location to the garden - 24 hours round trip with no stops.
This was the most negative experience I had for a wedding venue. The garden is very beautiful yet it was difficult to enjoy due to all the problems everyone at the wedding venue encountered with the staff.
It was a small wedding - the guests all came together & knew where to go EXCEPT us. We arrived earlier than the wedding guests and followed directions as instructed.
We were instructed to get the information of where to go for their wedding at the front desk when we got there. We arrived earlier than all the wedding guests (who were together with the brides).
The front desk received the names of our friends getting married and gave us a map - circling the WRONG location and giving us the wrong directions! We waited there for a long time and it was a long walk from the front desk.
We came back to the front desk after being informed by the bride that we were sent to the wrong location( they had to start the wedding immediately due to time constraints). They were at the location with all the guests who arrived with them .
The same front desk lady we talked to told us that she gave us the right location. When we told her that we were informed by the bride that we were at the wrong location, she got on the phone to find out the right location. The wedding guests came out and said the wedding was done. The front desk sent us to a far away location and circled the wrong place on the map when the real wedding location was nearby.
There was no apology from the front desk for sending us to the wrong location and taking too much time finding the right place to send us.
Our friends told us that they encountered a lot of problems with the wedding venue and the wedding services they paid for were not provided by Harry P Leu Gardens as promised. They said it was very expensive and they were unhappy with the poor customer service. No compensation, apologies, and corrections were made by the staff for their incompetence.
On the bright side, we still got great photographs of the brides. Everyone was optimistic despite all the challenges and negative experience with the...
ย ย ย Read moreLou Gardens is great but DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON DAZZLING NIGHTS! Compared to past set ups, this year is a scam. Which is interesting because it would appear that AdventHealth, the multi billion dollar healthcare system overrunning this city, was the sponsor. Iโm curious where the budget went when at the height of covid last year, there was twice the staff, twice the lighting elements, and much less corporate branding every where you looked.
There is a ton of dead space leaving a plethora of uneven ground and tripping hazards for patrons to navigate in the dark. While yes, it is an evening event of which they have made sure to pad with language across the website when purchasing tickets, we had no previous issues navigating the path because lighting was in abundance. The walk felt more like my neighbors backyard holiday set up than something worth $50.
Iโm curious as to why there was no staff either. Given last year was ripe with staff at the height of covid not only along the path to ensure safety and provide support but monitoring the photo ops as well. This year, we saw hardly any staff and we couldnโt enjoy any of the photo booths due to people having a field day of photo shoots at them and no staff to keep the lines moving.
Yes. There are going to be people who visit and find this entertaining. Perhaps they have nothing to compare it to or perhaps they set the bar low for what their money is worth. There will also be people who have been in previous years who know what this event is capable of and who will experience this very disappointment. The lack of creativity and budget is very apparent.
If you do go, bring a flashlight or make sure your phone is charged. You will encounter severe tripping hazards without it.
Need a holiday activity for the family? Check out the Central Florida Zoo & their Chinese Lantern festival. Less money. More lights and art....
ย ย ย Read moreI wouldn't go as it was unnecessarily too long and there were more Snack stands than restrooms. I definitely wouldn't take children here unless they look into reorganizing the entire walking path of the event and condense it as there's not a lot to entertain them. For something that is supposed to be a family-friendly event it's holiday lights which are the family part when it comes to friendliness it completely lacks this. If it's cold out you should wear a diaper regardless of your age cause if you drink anything and have a weak blatter you're not going to find a bathroom until you are basically at the exit. In fact, just spend your money at the Central Florida Zoo you will get a better all-around experience. The one thing I forgot to mention is they don't care about your safety when you exit cause the one and only valet parking lane is also right next to a narrow lane where you have to walk in single file next to flex-sticks and the valet attendants are driving next in the only entry and exit lane they have as if they're trying to win a race so one wrong steering mistake and they could easily hurt or kill those walking, not to mention at the end of there lane is the Lou Gardens entrance where vehicle and off-site shuttle busses are coming in and there's no one to direct traffic so I witness the valet in a white minivan almost get t-boned by one on the shuttle busses as they didn't bother to stop at the end of the valet driveway and just sped through. All in all until safety is taken into consideration avoid any Fever even at Lou Gardens cause they had no marking when the ground was uneven or you were coming up on a wiring cover that's a...
