Lets start with appetizers. We ordered wings which come with a sauce and a spice rub. The wings were spiced in the center but not all over but thats okay. The yum yum sauce was difficult to get on the wing since the wings were large and the sauce cup was small. The wings were good and large but the combo of spice and sauce was not. Basically, there was a dry wing with a little yum yum sauce . We tried the yum yum with the cayenne buffalo spice.
The gyoza was decent. It tasted clean but a bit plain tasting overall. The sauce could use some green onions etc imo.
The bao was actually good. My wife being from singapore liked the bbad.
For the entrees I ordered mega pork with black garlic oil. It looked good, I liked the egg noodles. The pork was cooked nice, the ingredients seemed like a good value/quality for the money. The broth was a bit bland and no wow factor. Overall, we are happy to have a ramen place closer to us. I would eat here again and I am comparing this place to the best I've had in singapore and in orlando. I do wish these guys the best. I did want to mention that my wife was told they do charge a dollar for chilli oil but they usually give it for free. She asked the waiter for some .he brought a tiny bit and when the bill came he made us pay 1.50 despite us being told it was usually given free. My wife spent around 80.00 on our meal. She was mad not about the 1.50 but the principle and now she is not likely to return which mean I'm not likely to return.my wife ordered the spicy curry ramen a dry she thought her broth was also a...
Read moreOk, ok…I had a craving while I was at church service. Hear me out, I suddenly started thinking about lunch and it had to be noodles in a savory saucy meaty dish. I wasn’t sure what that dish would be but the flavours were calling and I had to heed that call. My go-to Asian market to pick up hot and ready meals was a bust because first there was not a parking spot in sight and a thunderstorm started in the area. Cut to, me deciding to go home to eat whatever was in the fridge until I stopped at the intersection of Mills Ave and Virginia. Token Ramen sign stood out and this was the call I was hearing! Yes 🙌🏽 Tonkotsu ramen is the answer to my craving… hot, steamy, rich pork broth, unique kikurage mushrooms and hearty bamboo and all the usual players for toppings. Halt! What’s this appetizer…Samurai crispy chicken? Basically a chicken cutlet, panko crusted, double fried to the crispiest perfection but no at all basic my friends! A huge portion of crispy chicken cutlet served platter style with a side of light sweet tangy dipping sauce. Ughhh you guys I was in heaven, craving being satisfied and now I’m a fan. Will be there Sundays, come join me 😅 Also, this places is clean, tidy, tables ready for pick your own seating. There is a to-go container for leftovers and sauce station. Great service and fast food preparation. I ordered and within 6 mins my food started arriving. The staff is attentive and have great...
Read moreAt the time of this review they have only been open for a week. Regardless my husband and I had a genuinely nice experience. Some people were impatient at the restaurant for taking “too long” to get their food, but I expect some longer wait times with a new restaurant. It’s also just about being patient for your food, they give you an option to take it hime so if gih don’t want to wait go somewhere else.
The food was hot and had good seasoning/flavor.
For appetizers we ordered the chicken gyoza and the samurai chicken. Appetizers took about 15-20 minutes to get to our table, with my chicken fried rice meal and my husbands spicy tonkatsu ramen right behind after 10 more minutes. All in all food took about 30-40 minutes total. This was in the middle of a large rush where the restaurant went from empty to slammed in a matter of minutes.
The staff held up well and did their best, staying polite through impatient meetings patrons. Drinks to me is where they fell short as they do not offer any soda or simple sparkling options, but their teas were delicious! All in all we loved it and will...
