If you’re in the Orlando area and on the hunt for a cozy spot to satisfy your sushi cravings, gotta check out YAMASAN Sushi and Grill. Nestled at 1606 N Mills Ave, this inviting eatery strikes the perfect balance between traditional and contemporary Japanese cuisine. The atmosphere is wonderfully laid-back, making it a fantastic choice for a relaxed meal with friends or a quiet dinner date.
During my visit, I tried a couple of their waitress suggested signature dishes, and let me tell you, they did not disappoint! The menu is a treasure trove of sushi rolls, featuring everything from classic nigiri and sashimi to more adventurous options like the Volcano Roll, with its fiery habanero sauce, and the Deep Sea Roll, topped with rich caviar and lemon-infused mayo. Each roll is crafted with super-premium fish like bluefin tuna and yellowtail, ensuring a truly sublime dining experience. I absolutely fell in love with the Tuna Carpaccio—it was to die for!
We ordered two main rolls: the Sudoku and the Islamorado Coral Reef. While the Sudoku roll was just okay and not quite as spicy as I had hoped (I ended up asking for some sriracha and jalapeños to kick it up a notch), the Islamorado Coral Reef was a delightful surprise. Wrapped in refreshing cucumber instead of rice, it tasted incredibly fresh and left me wanting more.
Don’t skip the miso soup and spicy edamame, both bursting with flavor! And let’s not forget the service—our server was attentive, friendly, and made us feel right at home. Plus, if you’re a dog lover, their outdoor patio is incredibly dog-friendly, making it easy to enjoy a meal with your furry friend as your dinner date.
With prices ranging from $25 to $50 per person, YAMASAN offers a great value for the quality you receive. I can’t wait to return and explore more of their menu! If you’re craving quality sushi, trust me—you won’t be...
Read moreHow can I even describe this place other than “heaven in the form of a sushi restaurant”?! Yamasan Sushi is insanely good! I hadn’t been here in a long time (no idea why), but I finally came back and am so happy I did. We visited for lunch and got a variety of different things from their menu: Walk on Mars roll, Roller Coaster roll, Capitan roll, Tornado roll, and even the Sirloin/Chicken Hibachi lunch special! All 4 rolls were phenomenal - highly unique, and if you’re someone like me who loves the more flavorful and inventive rolls (not the standard California or Philadelphia rolls), I definitely recommend these. I especially liked the Walk on Mars and Tornado rolls!! The Tornado roll was one of my favorite rolls I have ever had at any sushi restaurant EVER! And hey, if sushi isn’t your thing, the hibachi was really good as well. I definitely would get that again if I wasn’t craving sushi. But let’s be honest - when am I not craving sushi??
All in all, this is an awesome sushi restaurant - certainly one of the best in all of Orlando. If you haven’t visited yet, I HIGHLY recommend it. They even have a gluten-free menu! So yeah, check this place out. Great food, great service, great location, great everything!
EDIT: We’ve since come back and tried the Harmony, King Triton, Sea Breeze and Nella Fantasia rolls. All amazing, especially the Sea Breeze and Harmony rolls!! I would highly recommend trying those when you...
Read moreI have no clue how this place has a 4.8 star rating. I ordered UberEats and had to throw away most of the order. Literally not eat, and throw away food. The gyoza was burnt, the miso was salty and whatever tofu they used looked rehydrated and literally like a shredded sponge, the tekka rolls were most disappointing. Almost every single roll was full of fat to a degree the tuna (sushi rolls made only of tuna) was chewy and grisly. It was absolutely unacceptable. I spit it out as soon as I got a few chews in. I know sushi, and I know tuna and no way was this sushi or sashimi grade tuna. The tuna filets in a grocery store freezer are better quality that what I received in my order. I almost never give bad reviews because most places are really great, or at least decent, and even fewer occasions have I ever sent food back or requested a refund on UberEats. Well this time I wish I had been at the restaurant because I would have sent the entire order back and left. Be careful ordering from here, or dine in and be sure you get what you are ordering done properly, but personally I will never order or eat here again. I am honestly shocked at how many things were complete dining failures in this order. I’m even more shocked I had to throw away food. That...
