Horrible food, ambience, and hygiene!!!

I am an Indian (South Indian) and was visiting Orlando. I had taken a cab to this restaurant so I can eat some hot fresh dosas (rice crepe). As soon as I entered the restaurant, I could feel the ambience completely off. But I was extremely hungry and had spent for the cab to come all the way there. So I decided to ignore my gut and give it a shot. WORST DECISION OF MY LIFE!!

First of all, they don’t serve. It’s a pay at counter AND collect at counter. This means that you pay for the food upfront - first red flag. So they don’t even make an attempt to make good food. We ordered samosa chat, sev puri, and onion rava dosa. The samosa chat was made with frozen samosas (which was spoilt for all I know) and was soggy as a tissue drenched in water! The sev puri was sad, just sad. Indian chats are supposed to be tangy, spicy, sweet/sour - like a flavor bomb. But this just had a stale set puris with some tamarind and green chutney and sev on top. And the rava dosa was SALTY and…. yes soggy like that wet tissue again!!

Now let’s come to the hygiene part - they had kept foam cups on the table near the water dispenser for patrons. When I took my foam cup, another one fell down by mistake. I had too many things in my hand, so I wasn’t able to throw the cup into the trash can. A waiter comes after a couple of minutes, picks up the cup from the floor, and puts it back on the cups pile on the table for other patrons to use!!! I mean SERIOUSLY??!! And I don’t even want to talk about the cleanliness in the back kitchen!

I feel really bad thinking about those patrons who come in here thinking of eating authentic Indian food and eat THIS instead....

if you do not eat meat please do not go here! i ordered veg biryani and veg manchurian and they literally gave me chicken. i figured it was a mistake and called the store and the guy argued me down saying it was veggies and hung up on me. i recited it because it was clearly chicken. i guess i was right because the next morning the manager called and agreed to redo my entire order. he told me to give a call when im on my way. i did and they told me i had to pay for my rice again and can only get the veggie manchurian but i explained i didnt eat any of it after being turned off cause i ate chicken after avoiding it for personal reasons with my health. once i threatened to call the manager back the worker agreed to just give it to me only to call back five minutes later and tell me he can only give me chicken biryani. i explained again i can not eat the chicken!!! so after arguing in his language with i’m assuming the cook he said forget it he can “just give me the veg biryani” at this point i didn’t trust them at all. i received the food and now the biryani seemed off. please do not allow them to play with your food. i am extremely disappointed and will never return. The manager tried to be helpful but his workers dropped the ball twice and aren’t trustworthy when it comes to...

The restaurant is located at a strip mall like most places in Florida. Upon arrival it was empty. Floors looked like it had just been mopped. Guy at the counter didn’t even look up when we arrived, he was too busy playing with his phone. No greetings or a hello, nothing. We had to call out at least twice before he came to take our order. Self service kind of place, you need to order at the cashier and then get up and pick up your food when it’s ready. Tv screens shut down, you can see something splashed on it that hasn’t been cleaned. No music or anything, you can hear the person in the restroom. Food came out in about 5 minutes, it was good and the portions were decent. Be mindful that rice is charged extra unlike most places. Although mango lassi was pre made in the fridge and it had a funny texture, it tasted good. The only reason I didn’t leave a better rate review is because the service could do a with some improvement. After years living in NYC, in a neighborhood predominantly Indian and used to servers being very courteous, it was a strange feeling being helped by someone who looked like he wasn’t happy to be there. In the food service industry courtesy goes a long way. Prices weren’t that much different from a place with table service. Not sure if...

I recently visited the India Hut and ordered the Manchurian with gravy, specifically asking for it to be spicy. Unfortunately, the chef simply added extra red chillies, which lacked flavor. This has happened to me on five separate occasions, and each time I've had to deal with employees who seemed to think they were doing me a favor, rather than providing good service. However, my latest visit was a slight exception - the employee who took my order was friendly and respectful. Despite this positive interaction, I was still left with some concerns about the quality of the food and service. The water we were served had an unusual black sediment, which was unsettling. Unfortunately, when I brought this to the attention of the staff, they didn't seem to take any action to address the issue. In light of these experiences, I would strongly advise against visiting India Hut. It appears that they are overcharging customers and not providing adequate service or food quality. I will be taking my business elsewhere from now on. It's also essential that the food inspectors pay another visit to this establishment and take necessary action to shut it down if necessary. Never Going again

August 2025 Tried this place through delivery after reading a glowing review saying their Soya Chaap is just like Delhi street food. Naturally, as a true foodie, I got excited and ordered both Malai Soya Chaap and Tandoori Soya Chaap. Now before I dive into the review, a humble request to that reviewer: Either change your Delhi soya chap restaurant location or stop reviewing food while sleepwalking. 😅 Both chaaps were nowhere close to the real deal. Felt like readymade frozen chaap that was boiled, dipped in cream, and then attacked with red food color like it owed someone money. Tandoori? More like “Tan-don’t-even-try-again.” I’m not trying to be mean, but just saving a few fellow chaap lovers from heartbreak (and stomachache). We all work hard for our money—if a dish isn’t your kitchen’s strength, maybe just… politely retire it from the menu? This looks like an old restaurant, so I’m sure they do some things well. But one thing’s clear: Chaap is not their chaampion. 🙃

I have been to this place multiple times before covid. Its not a fine dine place. And the ambience is not great either. I always feel like they need to deep clean the place. But their food...its good. And the bonus is the cakes/pastries...they are yummm!! I love the fact that you have a choice for eggless cakes. Black Forest and Pineapple are my favorites. Recently I ordered via UberEats from here. I was glad to see it on UberEats as its a little far from my place. Everything was nicely packed. Got Veg Hakka Noodles, Paav Bhaji and combo of Vada Paav - Kacchi Dabeli. Everything tasted good, except the paav (bread) was dry. I like that their menu has variety and few different items like Vada Paav, Dabeli, Panini and Puffs. They also have the regular items that you get in all indian restaurants. If you want to try this place...order to go.
