So me and my husband went today and decided to show up at 11:55am around opening since I was sure there would be a line, and there was. There were 4 women in front of us and nearing the door their entire 3 generations worth of family came and cut the line in front of everyone patiently waiting their turn. There were only 5 or so people other than these 4 girls in front of us and there were so many family members that by the time me and my husband got in most seats were taken and the place was loud and roudy kids were running all over the place. Me and my husband were ready to get out. I know it probably would've been loud anyways and staff can only do so much about a roudy group, but maybe a sign in front of the store saying to not cut in line if you have a large family would allow the people who patiently got in line on time to get what they want, and allow a more natural flow of customers.
About the food, me and my husband got 2 snow ices (one taro Ube one mango) and 2 matcha cubes to go. I was really hoping the snow ice would taste as good as it looked, but sadly we both agreed it wasn't as good as we hoped. Both were $16 and to be honest, mostly just tasted like ice with an.. interesting and chalky after taste. My husband said mine had more flavor than his but mine had a kind of artificial mango taste. The crunchy bits on top of the ice also felt a little too hard. I also understand reduce reuse recycle but because the spoons were wood every time we would take a bite of the ice we would just taste wood because of the spoon. It was less than pleasant. I know they look cute but plastic spoons would be nice. These were also just kind of a lot. I wasn't even able to finish mine, and maybe that's a skill issue, but I think a smaller portion option would be nice.
Now for the cubes, these were actually quite enjoyable! We had these for dessert after dinner and 15 seconds in the microwave I'd say these were worth the $6 each. I almost wish we just got the cubes and left but since we're about to move we wanted to try the snow ice since if we didn't get it we felt like we'd be missing out on something potentially amazing. I'd say just get the cubes.
To summarize: Maybe put a sign in front of the door so that families of 20 don't just waltz in just because they know 4 people near the door and cut in front of people who actually got there on time to wait, and the snow ice looks amazing but there are better things here to spend our money on. The cubes are good and quite...
Read moreI love KŌRI, they're a local woman owned business that never disappoints. The staff is incredible, the food is delicious, and the decoration/atmosphere never fails to take the breath away of those that I know who visit for the first time. I came on Monday 09/09/24 with a couple of my classmates as they were dying to try it and they spoke so highly of the Taro Ube Snow Ice. I had another classmate who came three days before that with their family who tried the Mango Snow Ice and said they couldn't stop thinking about it afterwards as it was that delicious.
Overall KŌRI is a representation of what someone has built from the ground up with their own two hands and it shows in their love for the people, for the staff, for the quality of their desserts and drinks and how much they're willing to listen, learn, and adapt to the suggestions of others.
KŌRI is not a franchise/chain run by a big corporation where they serve frozen food thawed out like many may be used to. They make everything handmade and fresh every single day so therefore the reviews that complain about how some items are sold out when they come in should know that this is a small bakery and dessert place run by a team of those who diligently sweat and work far into the hours of the night while everyone sleeps just to serve happy customers in the day. People should be far more compassionate and understanding of that as food service workers are not machines nor are they robots. Plus not to mention that the team does try to keep the customers well informed of what is in stock as there are constant updates of what is sold out on their website, on their social media, and even in the store there are sold out signs when you walk in. Those that say they came in at 6 pm on a weekend cannot say they are surprised that there is no more bread when the line usually goes down the block as soon as they open. Not to mention the staff and the social media team communicates clearly to first time customers in person and on their platforms when is the best time to come in in the case of wanting to try select items that tend to sell out quickly.
Warm regards and love to all who work at KŌRI. Keep your heads up you're doing amazing and each one of you deserves the recognition from your valued customer base that will know what you've done for KŌRI as a team to embody the loveliness and the warmth...
Read moreThis place is wonderful. I loved the vibe of the shop, talking to some employees, and trying out the baked goods. 5/5 for me, and many others. Not sure why KORI is recieving so much hate online, from people hiding behind a phone screen rather than give feedback in person. So much negativity, that KORI had to release a very kind IG post detailing all the concerns/ negative comments.
As a fellow business owner, it boggles me to think that customers would be angered by the success of a business, that they chose to try out and support..? If the line is long, the food and beverages must be worth the wait, wouldn't you think? If not, go somewhere else..? Nobody made the people of Orlando come to KORI, so why be mad when it is busy? You should be happy that a local business is doing well enough to merit a long wait, and still uphold excellent service and quality products.
Running out of product is a sure tell tale sign that the menu is popular in certain areas, and the business is 100% still trying to figure out its growing inventory/ demand needs. It's imparative to be patient with start up businesses, as they are still figuring out the needs of the business as it continues to grow rapidly, day by day. If KORI is out of ONE thing, why not try another?
Seeing all the negative reviews surrounding KORI has me a bit confused. This place is fantastic, and well worth any wait that people are complaining about. Negative reviews about KORI come from a place of privelage, and entitlement. Why be angry at a LOCAL and SMALL business doing well, other than you had to wait for maybe 10 minutes to be served... I'm not sure who these reviewers think they are to recieve Disney World levels of experience every where they go.
KORI is a great addition to the Mills 50 area, as they are providing great baked goods, wonderful staff and service, and building more community around the area. Keep doing...
