We were in Central FL visiting our family New Year's weekend so we figured to give this spot a try since we're used to "The Juicy Crab" in metro ATL. Food was very good and seasoned quite nicely. The customer service from the waitress named Katie on the other hand was the ABSOLUTE WORST ever!! We had a party of 6. Soon as she took us to our table and sat us down she handed us the buckets to and mentioned that they were out of the bibs that tie around your neck to protect your clothes from having sauce spilled over them and in the same instance I see another waitress grabbing PLENTY of bibs from under the waiter's station to give to her customers so she starts out with lies within the first 5 minutes of serving us and we had to get the bibs from another waitress. Also there were NO tools in any of the buckets to crack the crab shells. At one point she was supposed to have been getting soda refills which took her over 20 minutes and that was AFTER we complained to her about it and her reply was that the soda machine was down while other tables are enjoying the same refreshing soda that some of us had BEEN waiting for. Also there were no wipes for us to clean our hands which we had to ask that as well. It's like once we started calling her out on things not being done she made sure she stated away from the table as much as possible which was VERY unprofessional. My wife went to speak with the Supervisor about how poor Katie's service was and the Supervisor goes to Katie and pretty much now she's attempting to have a loud drawn out debate with my wife right where all customers come in at so I put a stop to that with the QUICKNESS because NO ONE will EVER have that luxury of disrespecting my wife EVER. It was at that time I raised my voice to kill all that noise and have my wife come out before I end up volunteering to be the person ANY of them wanted to raise their voice at or for anything for that matter. We asked for the Corporate office number and was told the only thing we could do was send an email or mail it. I wanted to ensure I gave the LOWEST review I could due to Katie's DEPLORABLE customer service so hopefully nobody else goes through that unnecessary nonsense. If she didn't feel like doing her job then DON'T COME TO WORK!!! We've visited many restaurants all over the US and International and love providing great ratings for others worldwide to see and decide if a location is somewhere they would like to go because I value other's opinions and ratings as well which is how we decide where to go. I pray this issue gets corrected but I can assure you we won't be back there since Katie killed it point blank period. If it were possible I'd rate Katie a...
Read moreAfter spending 10 wonderful days in Orlando, my 10-year-old daughter and I decided to have dinner at Mr. & Mrs. Crab, and I have to say, it was one of the best dining experiences we’ve ever had. From the moment we stepped in, everything about the evening felt exceptional.
The food here is phenomenal—easily among the best meals we’ve had during our many trips to Florida.
The staff played a big part in making our visit memorable. They were incredibly friendly, knowledgeable about the menu, and went out of their way to encourage my daughter to try lobster and crab for the first time. Their enthusiasm and guidance made her feel at ease, and they were careful to help us select a seasoning that suited her sensitivity to spice. We opted for the S-5 Big Eats and added a lobster tail, choosing garlic seasoning with no heat, which turned out to be absolutely perfect.
Early in the visit, a staff member came by with a camera and offered to take our photo. She returned shortly after with a complimentary postcard featuring our picture, which was such a thoughtful touch. She also offered us the option to purchase mounted photos for $20 each or $30 for two, presented in a beautifully branded restaurant wallet. I appreciated that there was no pressure to buy, making the interaction feel casual and enjoyable.
Before our food arrived, we were outfitted with bibs, gloves, scissors, and crab shuckers—along with wipes, napkins, and a bucket for shells and waste. These small details made the experience fun, even for my daughter, who was new to eating shellfish. It was such a hands-on and engaging way to enjoy the meal.
The seafood itself was incredible. The crab, potatoes, corn, and sausage were perfectly cooked and seasoned to perfection. After getting about two-thirds through our initial order, we couldn’t resist adding an extra pound of snow crab legs. They arrived quickly, accompanied by more sides, and were just as fresh and flavourful as the first round.
From start to finish, we were genuinely impressed with everything—from the attentive service to the delicious food and the little extra touches that made the evening special. My only regret is discovering this gem on our last night in Orlando. I wish we had found it sooner because I would have happily returned for another meal (or two)!

Read moreWe visited Mr. & Mrs. Crab on Kirkman Road to celebrate our daughter’s 21st birthday, excited for what we hoped would be a fun and memorable seafood feast. While the restaurant is super cute inside and the service was friendly and attentive, unfortunately, the quality of the food, especially the crab, left us feeling disappointed and, honestly, a bit robbed.
We ordered a variety of crab, including king crab, snow crab, and Dungeness, and spent over $400 on our meal. The biggest letdown was the king crab: priced at $80 per pound, we ordered two pounds and were shocked at how little meat there was. The legs were mostly shell with barely anything inside. To make matters worse, none of the crab shells cracked easily, they were bending and rubbery, which usually indicates improper storage or previously frozen crab that wasn’t handled well. It was frustrating and messy trying to open them, and the effort definitely wasn’t worth the reward.
As for the sides, the hush puppies were dry, lacking flavor and moisture, and the coleslaw tasted like plain cabbage tossed in mayo. No seasoning, no freshness, no balance, just bland and unappetizing. We had really high hopes coming in based on other reviews, but our experience just didn’t match what we read.
Again, I want to give credit where it’s due, the staff was kind and welcoming, and the ambiance is cute and fun, which made it feel festive enough for a birthday celebration. But when you go to a specialty crab restaurant and drop hundreds of dollars, you expect the crab to be the star, fresh, meaty, and satisfying. Sadly, this just wasn’t the case.
This meal felt like it should have cost less than $100, not over $400. We left feeling disappointed and taken advantage of, especially considering the occasion we were celebrating.
We really wanted to love this place, but the value and quality just weren’t there. Hopefully management takes note and improves food quality and storage practices, because the experience has potential but the food has to match the price point and...
