BEWARE OF RUDE TEAM LEAD MARISOL AT KIRKMAN
This was the worst experience ever had at a Tropical Smoothie. Marisol and another Blonde haired large woman were absolutely rude and disgusting to deal with. The problem with today's interaction was that Marisol who seemingly must be a team lead or in charge which is very unfortunate for Tropical Smoothie decided that she would make my Smoothie how she wanted and not how I ordered it, if there was an issue with how I placed the order as the lead who was present at the time I ordered because she also was sure to tell me that I'd be waiting 25min for the 2 Smoothies because they were short on staff and someone didn't show up for work. Instead of sharing today's schedule with me should have shared that there was an issue with how I wanted the smoothies made which were 2 Tropi-colada Smoothies with No Water Extra Coconut and Banana. After receiving the smoothies they were absolutely disgusting and had no distinctive taste at all. I walked back inside and first asked the young lady who took the order for the smoothies to be made over because they had no taste. She (Marisol) immediately interjected and said we put water in them because of new policies. I then responded with I've been getting these smoothies made the same way forever at this location with no water. She then made the comment that "I've had the same problem with you before." Which is a lie as this was my first interaction with this young lady (Marisol) and not a pleasant one at that. Not sure if she was insinuating all black women look alike and may be problematic but it didn't go over wel with me. I stated it's fine if the smoothies can't be made how I've been getting them made please issue me a refund. She then continued making rude remarks even after I asked her to stop addressing me and just issue the proper refund Marisol. What a great example youre setting for the rest of the employees. The other robust blonde haired woman came from the back and began to address me quite aggressively also about my order so I responded with please don't address me I'm not speaking to you. I also stated that her attitude was disgusting as she had just had a rude interaction with a young man before me. She then asked me what was my name and kept talking. Not once was this employee asked not to go back and forth or was her unprofessionalism addressed. She even came out of the kitchen and walked on the customer side of the restaurant still making comments. She wasn't corrected because Marisol was too busy doing the same thing.another customer even made the comment of just give her ther refund. Read moreI’ve been a loyal fan of Tropical Smoothie Cafe for a long time — I love the smoothies, and I order from here regularly. That’s why it’s disappointing to feel like the customer service at this location doesn't match the quality of the brand.
I came in to redeem the T-Mobile Tuesday offer, and I wasn’t entirely sure how to access the deal. From the moment I walked in, the cashier (possibly named Paul, based on the cup 5:05 pm) didn’t greet me — I said "hi" and got no response. He just stood at the register silently, which already felt unwelcoming.
I politely asked about the T-Mobile deal, and while I was downloading the app (which took less than a minute — there was no line and only two other customers in the store), I tried to make conversation and asked about the new mango and dragon fruit smoothies. Instead of engaging, he pointed to the menu and said, “You can see there.” When I asked again if they were actually good, he briefly said, “Yeah, the dragon fruit is really good.” It felt like pulling teeth just to have a basic friendly exchange.
Once I placed my order and he helped me activate the offer, I noticed after the receipt printed that I had a free supplement reward in the app. When I asked what supplements they offer, he abruptly responded, “Ma’am, you need to be fast. You want a supplement?” I explained that I had just seen the reward and was curious what options there were, but again, instead of offering help, he just pointed at the entire menu. At that point, I told him not to worry about it, thanked him, and dropped the request — I didn’t want to feel like a burden for asking a question.
To be clear, I wasn’t holding up a line or causing any issues. I was simply trying to use the rewards I’ve earned and enjoy the brand I love, but the attitude and dismissiveness were enough to ruin the experience.
Unfortunately, this isn't the first time I've had a negative interaction at this particular location, and I know friends who have had similar experiences. I really hope management takes this feedback seriously and improves customer service training. Tropical Smoothie Cafe should be known for its great smoothies and great service — not just one...
Read moreI have been a Loyal customer to this Tropical Smoothie Location on Kirkman Road for years. At certain points, visiting almost every day. Over 7k in Loyalty points at any given time all from this location. Needless to say, the customer service at this location has become horrible. I had an issue with a manager there about a month ago by the name of Cyra. I will not get into detail here but she was extremely rude and pretty much called me and my 18 year old daughter a liar based on what an employee told her. Embarrassing us in front of staff and a couple pf other customers. I proved to her that the employee had made a mistake and she never apologized. Instead, continued with a nasty attitude and unfortunately what could have been taken care of in a professional way, became a shouting match back and forth. I was given the regional manager (Ryan)'s number by an employee that was visiting from another store and contacted Ryan explaining what my issue was in the store and how I was treated. I asked for a call so that I can express my issue, and he responded with only a text message stating he was looking into the issue with no other resolution. I responded to him asking for a call or a number to tge corporate office because I felt just a text message back was brushing me off and unprofessional. I've waited 3 weeks for a response to my text and he has nit reached back out since. I am extremely dissatisfied with the way the regional manager and tropical smoothie has handled my issue being a loyal customer and I have not been back to that location since.
