Went with my sister two nights ago for Nightshade's "ladies night" event got there around 8:30 p.m. I've smoked hookah for probably the better part of 15 years & I've hosted many parties serving drinks & several varieties of hookah. Never have I ever in my life had a slimy taste in my mouth after smoking any hookah. The hookah was served cold and I'm pretty sure the hookah was served dirty ...definitely a hazard. Most establishments we've gone to from New York to Florida, take care in heating the hookahs up before they serve them to their customers. My sister and I notified the server and she just said okay and walked away. We literally were smoking the coals on a cold hookah, while they continued to sell them to people whom most likely didn't know any better. I informed the hostess, but she confirmed that they recently cleaned them and tried to negotiate with me that it was probably the type of shisha SMH! Emphasis on "probably". I told her that I have the same kind of hookah flavor at home and that I actually own a larger hookah at home and it never tastes like this EVER. And that's just the start. Upon arrival, I was met with nasty stares and just bad customer service. It was hard to differentiate the customers from the people that were actually working there nobody was wearing a proper uniform . At one point, before we decided to leave, one of the servers arrived and took a shot behind the bar. Drink prices are extremely high for a very limited selection. But we decided to stay because drinks were free until 11:00 and we hadn't had the negative experience with the hookah yet. My sister and I didn't feel comfortable indulging in any drinks at this establishment after our experience with the hookah. Both of our throats were extremely sore shortly after trying it and over the next coupleof days. It's a shame because I love to support a black owned, black run situation of any kind. This was appalling and gross. From the location to the music, there's a lot of potential here. The place is cosmetically beautiful and the music was on point, it's really unfortunate. I hope that my review is helpful criticism that will help Nightshade get it together. I will be more than willing to talk to the owner to answer any questions but I will not be returning to the establishment in it's...

Literally RUINED MY BIRTHDAY BRUNCH! I paid $300 just to walk in and be seated in a section for 12 people. When I came THE PLACE WAS CLOSED FOR RENOVATIONS! No notice or warning. My booking also came with a bottle and IT WAS NEVER RECEIVED. On top of that they seated my party separately and the waiters were literally super RUDE AND VISIBLY ROLLING EYES WHEN TAKING ORDERS.
