I recently visited this restaurant and I would like to express my concern on how me and my husband were treated during our dinner for his birthday on 02/10/25. I would’ve spoken to whoever was in charge that night however my husband didn’t want me to cause a commotion because we were just trying to enjoy his night. First and foremost, I made reservations prior to coming and my card was on file to ensure our table. I booked it for 8pm on the date stated, outdoor seating. When we entered the host walked over and said no welcoming greeting and just started off by asking for ID’s which was fine since we knew it was 21 and up, and followed that up by “It’s open seating you can sit anywhere except where the velvet ropes are or at the tables where it says “reserved”. I followed up her greeting by asking “Is there outside seating still available?” and she rudely said “That’s not what I said. I said you can go sit anywhere but the reserved tables and the tables blocked off by the ropes” Which as someone who works in the restaurant business was very rude and made me feel like asking a question was an issue. I let it go and we found a table. We waited 20 minutes and nobody came to our table until my husband stopped a waiter that had just greeted a party that walked in after us and asked if someone would be with us and then 10 minutes later a sweet waitress came and took out order. After she gave us our drinks I asked her if the reservations I made online even mattered because I wanted to ensure my card wasn’t charged a fee. She then told me that the host should’ve asked for my name so the reservation wouldn’t flag as a no show/late and get charged, I told her she didn’t so she went up and let her know. Which I feel like wasn’t right because if I wouldn’t have asked i would’ve been charged when the host could’ve greeted us differently. We ordered as an appetizer “Chicken Empanadas” and as our entree “Steak Sandwich” and “Blacked Chicken Flatbread”. After waiting all that time to be served my flatbread came out first and me and him ate that, then had to wait an additional hour for the other two plates to come out, which the waitress apologized for and offered a free dessert that they usually give to birthdays. Which I told her it was my husbands birthday and she said “Oh perfect!”. I would’ve expected maybe a little more than a mini circle red velvet cake that only one person could eat in one bite but I didn't want to make a fuss since it was his birthday. Everything as for the food and drinks were amazing. I just completely wish the experience was different for my husband because I did see great reviews on this place and it honestly makes me feel like since this is more of a high end “restaurant” we weren’t taken seriously since we were on the younger side. It really wasn’t the best restaurant experience I wouldn’t chosen for my husband, I 100% which I would’ve chosen another place with better customer service and concern for time. The waitress was wonderful, we enjoyed her service but as a restaurant we did not have the best time. I just wanted to express my concern and at least make my experience known to either management or whoever this...
Read moreIf I could add ZERO stars I would. We will never return to this dirty, dingy “rooftop” bar. We chose to come here on my birthday for brunch. Arrived 10 minutes early & was seated at our reservation time. Walking through the establishment was like walking through a depressing maze. The music was so loud it actually hurt my ears & felt like I was at a nightclub standing in front of the speakers. That shouldn’t be on a Sunday. Everyone looked so depressed, not one single smile on anyone’s face. There were two young girls seated at a couch that looked like they just took a sedative. We asked if we wanted to get seated at a table or a couch. We were eating so we chose a table (and to stay away from the zoo of depressed people.) Upon being seated, our table was COVERED in long black hair and filthy to the touch. Like they didn’t even clean up before seating us. YUCK! I could only imagine what the kitchen of this place looks like if they can’t keep their eating areas clean.
The waitress comes over and you could tell she did not want to be there AT ALL… she asked what we wanted for drinks and we explained we would do the bottomless mimosas with two glasses of bottled water. She demanded payment in full upfront. As soon as that happened, we were finished. I have never heard of any restaurant or bar having to CHARGE the card before even seeing our first drink… how absurd! We have traveled to every big city you can think of and I have never paid for my drinks up front lol. Not going to start happening now. When I expressed my concern to the waitress, she had no explanation as to why I would have to pay upfront. Maybe she was discriminating against us !? I asked to speak with management regarding this. The manager came over in a dirty, white polo tshirt and looked stoned. I explained what had happened and told him since she already charged my fiancés card that we would be leaving and wanted a refund. We had not had drinks by this point. (By the way, We are now at the one hour mark of being there…) He have a bit of an argument back and forth like it would be an issue for him to refund us even though we did not order anything yet. He told me he would take our card inside and refund inside. 20 more minutes goes by and we go into the restaurant to find him still trying to refund the card. I told him that we had to go as we have already been here for 1 hour and 45 and made reservations elsewhere for my birthday brunch. He seemed unbothered. Asked me if I wanted the GM to call. I just wanted to get out of there at this point. He gave us our refund receipt and told us he was sorry. We left & went somewhere else that was not dirty tables, blasting really bad music, full of drugged out looking “influencers” falling asleep on couches, and horrendous service. I would NOT recommend this...
Read moreUpon first entry to the beautiful building it was easy to navigate our way to the 18th floor where the AC Skybar sits. The building itself is right off i4 exit 83 making it very convenient to stop for a bite as long as you have a reservation.
We didn't know you needed a reservation on Sunday for brunch.Jordyn politely let me know that walkins are not accepted. No problem at all, this was an error on our end but we were able to work it out and get a seat outside near the long, glass encased (open top) fireplace. From here you have a beautiful view of Downtown Orlando, an on site DJ, and what looked like a full service bar just behind us.
Our Server was Alex and he did a wonderful job making sure we had everything we needed throught the meal. We started out with waters and decided to skip alcohol this Sunday brunch. Once Julian came over to greet us he convinced us to get a bottle of the Wycliff Brute Champaign so we could try all the different mimosas they offer (Orange, pineapple, & Cranberry). I must admit its a great way to start your Sunday.
I ordered the pepper smoked salmon bagel. This came out with cream cheese on one side of the bagel with smoked salmon piled on top. There were capers, diced red onion, shredded hard boiled eggs, and halved tomatoes on the side for me to build. The other half of the bagel was bare. This implies I was supposed to eat it as a sandwich. I would have preffered to eat each half separate and with a little effort I did that anyway.
My wife ordered the AC Burger, it was presented beautifully and cooked to order. Paired with the crispy potatoes, it had everything you look for in a burger.
Our only real gripe was with the creme Brule French toast. It seems our French toast had been missed by someone and arrived about 15 minutes late (we forgot as well). No need to point fingers because as soon as we mentioned we never received it, it suddenly appeared. I must add it was definitely worth the wait! They use a different type of bread than that of standard French toast and it is topped with fresh berries and syrup. You must order one for yourself!
Overall the whole experience was that of a high end restaurant with beautiful views of Orlando on all sides, friendly staff, and great music. We will be coming back and highly recommend AC Skybar if you are...
