We went to nikki's place after my wife visited earlier in the year and raved about it. We were greated like family upon entering. Upon being seated we asked for water and coffee. Most places bring you a cup of ice water, unless you specify you want bottled water. Ok fine. Bottled water was brought out at 3 bucks a pop. I ordered the fish and grits with eggs on the side, My wife had the baked chicken with two sides. My fish n grits were very good, although I expected two pieces of fish for $16 dollars. My wife, on the other hand, had to send her chicken back because it was undercooked near the bone. She lost her appetite for chicken after seeing that, so instead asked for the liver and onions. She commented that it was delicious. Other than her sides being on the small side for the price, we had no further issues with the food. What else bothered us about nikki's place? Small things, but they add up. When asking for the bill our waitress, kay, who was very cheerful and helpful throughout, held out the credit card scanner machine with just a total amount on it. When I saw the amount of $52, I should've asked for an itemized bill, but I didn't. I've never in my life seen a restaurant where I have to enter my email or phone number to get an itemized bill sent to me and not presented with it up front. Now, I'm all for supporting a mom and pop place, but In addition to not giving us an itemized bill right away, we were upcharged for a dinner portion of Liver and onions when the chicken was sent back without warning. If you care about repeat customers and I'm sure you do, That's not a good practice. Neither is sticking dine in customers with a 20% dine in fee added to the bill with no notice. That fee should be clearly displayed somewhere. And if it was on the menu, we didn't see it. If we decide to eat from there again, We will get our food to go to avoid the 20% dine in charge. So to summarize, Food was good overall, with exceptions, service was good, with exceptions. with a generous tip and the dine in charge, we ended up spending $72 dollars for 2 plates at lunch time.

I celebrated Orlando's Black Restaurant Week on November 15th by trying for the first time a restaurant called Nikki's Place. I walked in and ordered the Chitterlings Dinner over white rice with sides of potato salad, collard greens and a corn muffin (see picture) for take out. The restaurant is a neighborhood staple that has a long history of serving the community with delicious soul food. It's a small restaurant with only a few tables for dining in, but very clean. Most of its business seems to be carry out. The potato salad was pretty good but a little sweet. The collard greens were very salty and I suspect were canned or frozen and not fresh. However, the chitterlings were the star because they were VERY tender and spiced perfectly, bringing back memories of when my mother prepared and cooked them. This dish is one of Nikki's more expensive dinner offerings (about $32 rounded off-tax included), but if you know how labor intensive and time consuming chitterlings are to clean, prepare and cook properly, you won't mind the cost. I sure didn't and will order them again in the future. Chitterlings are a delicacy and you get a heapful pile served every day at Nikki's as opposed to competitor P&D Soulfood Kitchen which only serves chitterlings once a week in mini chopped up pieces. I had to ask for my receipt and instead of a copy of my credit card receipt that I signed, I got a different handwritten one. Anyway, I plan to become a regular at Nikki's and try other dishes like the liver and onions next time. The waitress and everyone else were friendly and welcoming. I would recommend visitors and residents alike to stop by and try their tasty dishes!

Awesome Awesome Awesome Everything is really Good. I love the consistency of the preparation of the food over the last 20 years of me coming to Nikkis Place. The home cooking and Southern Food is always a 10 out of 10. My most Favorite Dish is The Baked Turkey Wing. They are so Tender Flavourful and Tasty with just the right amount of seasoning and always moist and juicy. I top my meal of Turkey Wings with several side which includes the very delicious and tender well seasoned Collard Greens , Yellow Rice seasoned to perfection, good ole macaroni and cheesy cheese 🧀 which is so Mouth watering and good, They offer the 1 piece or 2 pieces of Turkey Wings in which o always order the 2 piece..lol..I love ❤️ the abundance of food in which they pile up my To Go Plate. This menu choice has never been a disappointment. The only suggestion that I have as a True Turkey Wings Lover is that they PLEASE 🙏 consider serving this staple on additional days other than sindays...lol.. as Im writing this 5 star 🌟 🌟🌟🌟🌟 my mouth is watering right now for a plate of those Good Turkey Wings. BTW the Staff is AWESOME ALWAYS. They greet you and are very Kind when you enter the door and always making sure if you called in your order or needing to order. I Love the fact that the Original Owners over see the operation from day to day and is actually Active in the kitchen preparation area preparation the proper cooking and seasoning the foods being offered. The menu is very long and vast with so many overwhelming choices of which I have tried only a very few of the other items only due to me loving Turkey Wings so much...lol.. they offer a assortment of all kind of Desserts and Specialty non alcoholic homemade drinks of Tea and Lemonades and so much more. I Love the Banana pudding, pound cake ,and sweet potato pie OMG let me just sum this review up by saying EVERYTHING THAT IVE TRIED IS DELICIOUS AND TO PERFECTION AND THATS WHY I TRAVEL 1 HOUR TO THIS ESTABLISHMENT. Shout out to the Daughter NIKKI the staff Nikko, Audrey, Mrs Ruth , as well as the mother and father and I'm sorry I can't remember everyone's name but I do remember the faces lol... I'll be seeing yall again this week God...

Today is January 4th 2025 and it's my second visit to Nikki's place restaurant. My first visit was exceptional everything was positive positive positive. This is my second review and there will not be a third because I will not go back.

I called 35 minutes and placed my order before getting there. There were five people standing inside the door in front of me. I waited 20 minutes and was never acknowledged or spoke to. I had to stop the young girl and inquire about my order. Another 15 minutes standing there waiting as the young girl was very friendly with the other guest that were sitting down she never got back to me. I flagged the girl again by putting my hand in the air after standing 35 minutes at the door and never being acknowledged. She inform me she would go back and check on my order she came back out and said it will just be a few minutes. She was very nice very polite. 40 minutes later after calling in my order 35 minutes prior... I flagged the girl down again and she informed with me they just started cooking my order. He informed me because I did not pay over the phone they do not cook it until I get there. The very nice lady on the phone that took my order did not inform me I needed to pay for them to start preparing my order. I finally after an hour get home with my food and this was nothing like my first visit there. I ordered the smothered pork chops with mac and cheese collard greens and potato salad. The pork chops were paper thin and there was more bones than there was meat on these two very small very very thin pork chops. The collard greens were great. The potato salad was not the quality that I received on my first visit a month ago And the only thing good about the mac and cheese was the cheese that was melted on the top. This was such a bad experience I will not be going back for a third trip. It's a shame because my first experience there in November was perfect The food was great The pork chops were an inch thick the mac and cheese was great The potato salad was great. But....... This was definitely not worth $28. The quality that I received today was something I would expect at waffle House or IHOP. Sorry Nikki you lost...
