This a pretty nice place to visit. Very pleasant staff and good parking on West Church Street in Orlando, only a few blocks away from the Camping World Stadium (formerly known as the Orlando Citrus Bowl), Charles Frizzel of Broken Strings Brewery and Jeanna Malines of Black Cauldron Brewing, opened a pretty unique brewery. Actually, there are two breweries under the same roof. You see, after tons of planning, setbacks, more setbacks, changing plans, securing buildings then having those plans completely fall out from underneath both of them, Charles and Jeanna came up with a plan to solve both of their problems. They decided to share a location. The name Broken Cauldron Taproom naturally comes from a combination of Broken Strings Brewery and Black Cauldron Brewery. Each brewery rotates brewing on the three-barrel brewhouse system. Black Cauldron Brewery focuses on the malt-forward side, while Broken String Brewery will brew more hop-forward varieties paying homage to musical legends. The large, open tap room serves beer from each brewery. At any given time, the tap room serves drafts...
Read moreA fun tap room outside of the downtown area but easily accessible via private parking lot or you can adventure and take one of the brand new lime bikes. We headed here to meet up with some friends for a couple of drinks before we had to head out because it a little one.
the parking lot is easily accessible and has several spots, however, if that's full there is some side street parking as well. Once you're inside there's a few tables and a bar with some tools. The bartender greeted us right away and I grabbed a drink. You can either open a tab or pay as you go.
I had some of the sauvignon blanc, which comes in a can, but it is two serving sizes for $9, which is a pretty good deal! Don't let the can fool you the wine is solid.
they also have access to the back area where you can see their brewing on site. It's fun to go back and see what's there. They also have a lot of tabletop games if you're interested in killing a little time while you drink.
Overall: A I really fun brewery and taproom. Definitely you should check...
Read moreWe attended a wedding reception next door and it only served a few domestic beers. Me being a beer guy, I knew the brewery was next door so I convinced my wife to drop by so I can at least get one good beer in before we head home. We walked in and were immediately attacked by the bar tender yelling at my wife to throw out her beer. I'll take the hit on that, you shouldn't walk into a bar with a a beer. But my wife just wanted to finish her light beer. The guy was pretty rude about it but we shrugged it off. Well, low and behold no light beers on tap here so my wife got to order a water and watch me. I had a mosquito red IPA but for $7.33 plus tip for 14oz no steal here. It wasn't bad but all their beers were min 5% ABV so pretty potent stuff. With rude staff and high prices I don't think we will return. If near by go with...
