THE AI GENERATED REPLIES BY THE "OWNER" ARE LAUGHABLE & RIDICULOUS! When this location first opened it was so good. The donuts were delicious (actually worth the price) and service was great. Then the staff started to be replaced by younger employees (gen z aged) from the older employees who started with the opening of it. The donuts started to seem to shrink in size and quality went down as did the service. Mostly young male employees are who I started to consently experience when going, and some seemed like they were on another planet. Dazed & confused to say the least. Good thing I always checked the bag before leaving because once I was given a walnut topped donut when I didn't even ask for it as I can't eat any nuts. I'm kind of not surprised this place is closed. Another big mistake I feel they did was focusing too much on specialty donuts. This led to customers not being able to obtain certain advertised popular specialties, which in turn led to anger & frustration. Many contacted cooperate not understanding that the company had nothing to do with the specialties. The Dubai chocolate trend was their downfall imo. I also don't think the demographic in this area was the right target for pricey (& unique) items. People around here are pretty low income used to Dunkin, WaWa and latino supermarket bakery prices/items. Also, there have been at least two new donut places that have opened up on curry ford west making for some tough competition in the area. Maybe if they had opened in a "trendier" part of town or closer to the airport further up s semoran the location would still be...
Read moreI’m very familiar with Shipley’s as I’m from Houston, TX and this location has seemed to miss the mark. I visited and purchased a glazed donut and a sausage kolache. When placing the order, one of the employees that was placing donuts into the trays sneezed into her glove and did not change the glove, but continued to place them in thier correct spot, putting one hand behind her back. I kindly stopped ordering and made the cashier aware of what I saw and she had to ask the employee to change her gloves, which is concerning that it was not a natural instinct and secondly that it was unsanitary. From there, I recieved my order and left. I had to turn right back around becuase I received what was a ham and cheese kolache instead of a sausage. That for me is a major problem because I don’t eat ham nor dairy. When I came back in to speak to the cashier, she pulled another kolache and asked if I could open it there because she wanted to make sure it was correct and unfortunately it was not. It was the same item (ham and cheese). The trays were in the incorrect spot which I understand accidents happen however at the same time some people do have allergies to certain foods. Although I received my correct item on the 3rd try, I think it’s sadly to say the worst part of it all was that it was not apology extended for the error just a here’s your correct item and that was it. Disappointing and hard to believe I’d come back to...
Read moreThey are new to Orlando, so of course I was curious. 1st visit. I ordered an apple fritter for over $3. (A childhood favorite) the donut was fresh and tasty, the bread part soft with a nice texture...However, no apple chunks to be found in the entire donut! Went back a 2nd time to give them one more try and expressed my disappointment with the missing apple bits...they were kind enough to me a complimentary apple fritter....I also purchased a barvarian cream filled and a cherry filled. The barbarian filled had a strange after taste. The cherry filled had BARELY any filling and the comp donut was a blackish brown color...very overdone and once again no apple chunks. I could not even fathom eating these after a taste so I got my money back. The people that work there are very sweet and polite. The donuts are very over priced for a less than average Karting taste...if you really want a great donut...head over to the publics backers where you will find fresh and delicious donuts and a 4th of the cost of Shipleys. Shipley should ship back out to where they came from...they are not worth the $$ at all! I will...
