I recently had the pleasure of dining at Waffle House, and I must admit, it shattered all my preconceived notions. As someone who typically frequents more elegant establishments, I had unknowingly fallen prey to the stereotype surrounding this little gem. However, from the moment my sister, niece and I walked through the door, I was overwhelmed by the warmth and genuine hospitality of the staff.
First and foremost, the staff at Waffle House truly set the tone for a memorable dining experience. Their cheerful smiles and genuine enthusiasm were infectious. Despite the bustling nature of the restaurant, they went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and attended to. It was refreshing to witness their dedication to customer satisfaction, as they graciously accommodated all our requests with a sense of urgency and care.
Now, let's talk about the food. Oh, the food! It was a revelation. Each dish was prepared to perfection, exceeding even the highest of expectations. The aroma of freshly brewed coffee filled the air, creating an inviting atmosphere that was as comforting as it was enticing. As we perused the menu, it became apparent that Waffle House had mastered the art of crafting delectable breakfast delights.
From the fluffy golden waffles to the mouthwatering scrambled eggs with cheese bursting with flavorful ingredients, every bite was a testament to the culinary expertise of the kitchen staff. The attention to detail was remarkable, as each dish arrived beautifully presented and bursting with vibrant colors. The flavors were simply divine, and it was evident that only the freshest ingredients had been used.
Moreover, the portion sizes were generous, ensuring that no one left the table hungry. The menu boasted a variety of options to suit every palate, and the staff was more than happy to offer recommendations based on our preferences. It was evident that they took pride in their craft, and their passion for delivering exceptional food was evident in every dish.
What truly stood out, however, was the genuine care and kindness that permeated the entire dining experience. From the moment we were seated to the final moments of our meal, we were made to feel like treasured guests. The attentive staff ensured our glasses were never empty and promptly addressed any additional requests we had. Their impeccable service, coupled with their warm personalities, elevated our dining experience to new heights.
In conclusion, I wholeheartedly recommend Waffle House to anyone seeking a memorable dining experience. Don't let its unassuming exterior fool you; this establishment is a hidden gem waiting to be discovered. The staff's sincere kindness, combined with the impeccable food, creates an atmosphere of pure delight. Waffle House exceeded my expectations in every aspect and proved that elegance can be found even in the most...
Read moreOur family had never been to a Waffle House before, so we were excited to try it out! Walking into the building at this location, we were shocked about how small it was-it didn’t help that half of the seating was taped off and unused. There was only 1 available seating booth, so our family got lucky that we didn’t have to wait to eat (we went around opening time). The waitress that we were assigned was really pleasant and respectful. She handed us the menus and got us our initial drinks. Yeah, personally, I was disappointed that the Waffle House wasn’t a mountain of waffles that had crazy and wacky toppings (or at least a waffle bar), but that’s just me and my imagination! The food was good! It kind of reminded our family of Perkins or Dennys based on the type of food and the style of the restaurant. I ordered the sandwich with bacon, cheese, and eggs, all between two slices of lightly toasted bread. It was really good! The hashbrowns that I was served were a little grainy and soggy. I’m not sure how to describe it, and it could just be how Waffle House does their hash browns, but I wasn’t too fond of them. I would say, it’s par for breakfast. I would definitely order the sandwich again! And I would visit another Waffle House with my family. But, would I come back to this location? Probably not, because it’s cramped and there’s not really any seating options or space. And we were right next to where the food was being cooked, so everything just kind of felt unclean. Not only that, something broke and water started spraying near the bar area. It was a mess. The floors were a bit dirty, and most of the surfaces had some type of mark or grime on them. Overall, not the worst, not the best.
Side Note: There was a group of teenagers that sat behind us, they came in after us, and left before us. They took MAYBE 3 or 4 bites of their food (mind you there are 4 of them) and then left, leaving a majority of the food on the plate. It was really sad to see that happen, and it was such a waste of food and time. I just hope if you come here, please give it a chance and eat more than...
Read moreTypically, I love Waffle House. It's low cost, delicious munchie food.
On November 10th, my girlfriend and I stopped in after a music festival. It was around 2:30 a.m., and we noticed that there were other people also eating there already who were from the same festival -- donning the same attire as us, which were short shorts and glitter.
Upon being seated, we waited another five minutes before anyone came to serve us. Finally, the waitress approached and instead of asking us our drink order, she addressed ME about my girlfriend. She asked that my girlfriend leave to put pants on, otherwise we would not be served.
What? And why was she addressing me, when my girl was right in front of her face?
So I asked her why. She replied "well, it makes some of the customers uncomfortable". Let me tell you -- we were wearing THE SAME THING. Same shorts, different colors. Not only was it extremely rude of the waitress to not even look her mt girlfriend in her face and address HER, but it was mortifying as well. I was astonished.
What brings me to another level of anger is this: my girlfriend has short hair, and looks boyish at times. She doesn't look traditionally "femme". So, at almost 3 a.m. in the morning, we are being asked to leave an establishment when all we wanted were $2 waffles. Seriously? The prejudice was disgusting, mortifying, and plain wrong.
We left and drove a few miles to the next Waffle House (Orange Blossom Trail) where were were greeted warmly and told them our story. They were also appalled, especially because HELLO -- it's 3 a.m. and all of Orlando was flooded with festival goers. They then apologized profusely, and we were given the best service as well as friendly conversation. A total 180° from the Kirkman establishment.
We won't return to this location, but instead share the story of digusting humans that work here and spread this kind of hate. Screw your prejudice.
Oh, and traditionally Waffle House is a grimy place -- everyone knows that. Because of that, all of this was...
