My 1 star is nothing against the food. Great food, great coffee. Zaza's has been a favorite of mine since I moved to Orlando over 10 years ago. I noticed at the Waterford location, they added the ordering kiosks but they continued to have people available to still take your order per usual. At the Curry Ford location, I saw that they have also implented ordering kiosks but it seems that the people will no longer be taking orders. I could write paragraphs on how this truly is a detriment to the atmosphere and customer service that Zaza's has always provided. I want to stress that the employees at Zaza's are typically always pleasant and courteous. However, now the owner is creating separation to where the paying customer is no longer even worth a greeting or the traditional interaction of placing an order. Instead, the paying customer is now treated like an unpaid employee for the betterment of the "bottom line". As a millenial, I am not opposed to technological advances in making a restaurant run more efficiently with better computers, or an online ordering system, etc. But the ordering kiosks make Zaza's no better than a McDonalds. Zaza's started as a family owned company and expanded to multiple locations which is great. But the appeal has always been that "authentic" small, family owned restaurant to get hearty, delicious Cuban food. They have slowly and steadily been going the route of "chain restaurant" and it is truly dissapointing. No longer will I be recommending this place because I can't trust a chain to truly deliver authenticity. Shame on the owner and team who are responsible for making decisions. This wasn't the move to gain loyal customers, but essentially the perfect way...
Read moreLet me explain something. I am cuban I grew up in a cuban household. I see many reviews on here with good ratings, saying it's authentic. This is not authentic cuban food. This is an American commercialized restaurant. This is by far the worst cuban food I have ever tasted. The blacks beans has no olive oil at all what's so ever. The seasoning isn't even latin. It's American. The rice isn't latin. I couldn't even eat the rice without the black beans, and even less with the black beans. The roasted pork was also season like it came from an American restaurant. I'm sorry I find this place abit of a cultural disgrace. This place dosent even have a clue how to cook cuban food. There is nothing authentic. This is the worst. If this establishment wants to serve cuban food. Start looking for a cuban mom or grandma. And hire a cuban staff to cook. AND USE LATIN SEASONING AND INGREDIENTS!! REAL BEANS CONCHITA, IBERIA, ECT. BADIA SEASONINGS. HIRE CUBANS THAT HAVE BEEN COOKING CUBAN THEIR WHOLE LIVES.. I called this place and the second I heard the voice of probably the whitest dude in Orlando I knew this was gonna be bad.. No offense to anyone nor am I racist. But if you want authentic cuban food. Ask a cuban. Find the small restaurant and food truck where you see and hear cubans speaking and congregating at, AND that IS THE location where you ll find authentic cuban food.. NOT THIS PLACE! The cuban sandwich was less than mediocre aswell. I always try to find my cultural food everywhere I go. But Maan this was the absolute worse. And so many reviews saying it's good and authentic. They have no clue. NEVER AGAIN. Hire cuban staff to cook and run the...
Read moreI am a local. I have been ordering Door Dash more than I should. However, I have ordered the same thing from ZAzA MUPTIPLE TIMES. Through door dash, you cannot opt for a simple special instruction of having extra dressing or mojo. Today, I called them and especially asked for said extra dressing. I ordered a salad and the vaca frita. Nevermind the fact that they have decided not to serve the red beans. That is ok for me. However, I called and asked for the dressing and i received my order and it wasn't there. This is probably the 10th time i have requested such. And they say yes over the phone and never is it delivered. I drove up to the location and I was kindly greeted and refunded. Its not about the money. Its about being able to order. I was told by the person on the phone that special instructions were allowed. I haven't been able to order special instructions - hence why I call each time to request them. I have come to a point where - I will no longer order from them doordash or ubereats etc. Only dine in. Sad they dont recognize the value of the opportunity of the apps that bring them so much business. Not to mention the added fees....
