There aren't many breakfast options when visiting the Cape in the off season so we were happy to find this place. We had no idea that it was basically glorified take out. Once inside, it was super confusing. You need to order your food first, and then find a seat. They wouldn't even let us look for a seat first. We had limitations and unable to go upstairs and didn't know what was available downstairs. On to the ordering process. We tried to order custom omelets but the person taking our order wouldn't allow us to tell him what we wanted until we answered what kind of bread and cheese we wanted first. When our coffees were set on the counter, we tried to get some sugar and stirrers from the station set up near the exit, but were promptly admonished and reminded that they bring everything to us. I just said we wanted some sugar and was told a little abruptly that it's on the table. I felt like I needed to apologize, adding that it was our first time here. (And likely our last). The saving grace was that the yummy baked offerings and that the omelets were freshly made and loaded, the cinnamon raisin toast was thick cut and flavorful and the home fries were perfectly crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Food was served in take out containers with plastic utensils. Unfortunately were looking for that eat in/real plate and utensils experience, and table service. Oh well....now we know.

Went looking for a breakfast place. This was the second one we went to. We were planning on “eating in” and expected an experience the was designed for those staying and eating. It unfortunately appeared that most people were taking out. NO table service at all despite the fact that they said they would bring our food to the table. Coffee in paper cups, had breakfast out of take out containers. We both had the “garden scramble”. One got cheese for $2 more (a bit pricey for cheese). The focaccia was really good but we both asked for it to be unbuttered, and only one was. The server (cashier) was not at all welcoming or friendly. When paying, the inevitable option to tip came up. 18% and 20% were brightly lit, 15% was dimmer. Really annoying. Food was just ok. The “home fries” I’m sure came out of a bag from US Foods. Tasted clearly deep fried. Home fries should not be cubes of potatoes! Next time will find a quaint cape cod cafe with real cups and plates.

we got here later in the morning so there was a 30-45 minute wait but decided to stay after seeing the reviews. once seated (in a small section next to a small dividing wall) the waitress took our drink orders. i got the coconut cold brew coffee (great flavor but beware you will have coconut repeating on you for hours afterwards even after eating another meal). the waitress was very sweet and took our food order. i got the country breakfast with the bacon scallion cheddar biscuit and my friend got 2 pancakes with crispy bacon. my food had a good flavor although the gravy was a little bland. my friend's bacon was not crispy and he said the tops of the pancakes were tough. overall i would say go but don't wait and don't go out of your way to get there. the food was good, portions were ok but nothing spectacular about any of it.

⭐☆☆☆☆ RUDE, HUMILIATING, AND COMPLETELY UNCALLED FOR

I came into Hole in One Donuts today to pick up a few donuts — simple, right? It was supposed to be a quick treat run, specifically for my daughter. Instead, I left embarrassed, disrespected, and completely disgusted by the behavior of the staff.

The woman at the counter — black hair, nasty attitude — didn’t greet me, didn’t smile, didn’t even acknowledge me as a human being. She opened with “What do you want?” like I had personally ruined her day by walking in the door. I said, “I just need a minute,” and she gave me nothing but dead silence and a blank stare.

When I said I’d just grab a few donuts, she snapped, “How many?” with an aggressive, impatient tone like I was inconveniencing her by… ordering donuts at a donut shop. I hesitated for half a second and said, “Uh, three, I think,” then pointed at one labeled Cinnamon Toast Crunch and said, “I’ll take that one.”

She looked at me, laughed in my face, shook her head, and said, “That’s not even a donut.” What are we doing here? The sign literally said Cinnamon Toast Crunch?. If it’s not a donut, explain to me nicely — but don’t mock your customers for reading what YOU put there.

Then she turned to her blonde coworker and said something I couldn’t hear, and they both laughed again — at me. Right in front of me. Loudly. I was just standing there trying to order, wondering what the hell I did wrong.

And then, the cherry on top: she mutters something like, “It’s been a day. We’re getting pissed off. Stay in your lane. Don’t get mad at him.” What are you even talking about? I hadn’t raised my voice, hadn’t been rude — I was just trying to buy a few donuts for my kid.

After all of that, she wouldn’t even finish my order. She passed me off to an older woman at the register who gave me a dirty look and rang me up like she couldn’t be bothered. No smile. No thank you. Just a clear message: you’re not welcome here.

It blows my mind how employees can treat people like this and still collect a paycheck. This wasn’t just a “bad day.” This was a coordinated effort to humiliate and dismiss a customer who was doing absolutely nothing wrong. All for what? A power trip?

I came in to get donuts for my daughter. I left wondering what the hell is wrong with the people working here. If this is how your staff acts on a random weekday, I can’t imagine what the weekends are like.

Get your staff under control. Fire the ones who treat customers like garbage. And maybe remind them that they’re not doing the world a favor by showing up to work being mean standing there like they own the place.

This place is a joke. I won’t be back. And I’ll make sure anyone I know...

Cape cod native, grew up with the original owners and have been coming here well over 30 yrs. The old owners worked extremely hard to build a fantastic family run business. They have since earned there well deserved retirement. Under new ownership I have seen significant loss in food quality from dry muffins to over cooked and cold kitchen meals. The service is hectic and un friendly except for a select few individuals that have been working here for years. I can not come during the summer months for a simple cup of coffee bc they use 2 registers, which they have plenty of counter space to add at minimum a 3rd. If you call ahead of time... well it won't help. There is no designated area to pick up to go orders you still are forced to wait in the large line until everyone in front of you orders food. In return leaves with cold soggy food. I'm so disappointed with the new owners I use to literally get just a cup of coffee each and everyday for 30 yrs, now I rarely will (bc they wont add a 3rd or fourth register). Coffee might be the only thing worth buying, now that the food is no longer consistent. Sad when locals no longer feel welcomed. They need help in everyway.

Also I DONT expect to hear any response from the new owners. They only respond to positive reviews if you look through. Can't expect change if they are not responding to...
