Dairy Queen Grill & Chill — Restaurant in Ottawa

Decided to treat my parents as I'm back home visiting for the weekend. This wad nowhere near the treat I had imagined

20 minutes sitting in the drive through, after I made my order. I get up to the window and the lady hands me half my order and tells me to have a good night. She goes to get the rest of the order, so I figure I'll start to eat my blizzard. Wrong. My blizzard is like soup, more than half way melted, amd I realize that she didnt do the little flip thingy they do with the blizzards. I politely ask if they could remake the blizzard as it's mostly melted ice cream and she rolls her eyes at me and makes another one. Even this new one I ended up drinking the last half of the blizzard rather than eating it.

I honestly should have checked the rest of the order, but the milkshake and the Sunday looked fine at a glance. The milkshake was 100% melted by the time I got home (roughly 4 minutes or so from the establishment), and the Sunday was more or less in tact. A quick pop into the freezer and it was salvaged, the milkshake was rendered back into something resembling a milkshake but my dad still wasn't happy with it and ended up throwing away about 3/4 of it.

You're an ice cream parlor, it was maybe 70* outside, there is no reason that the ice cream you hand me at the drive thru window is melted, let alone doesnt survive the less than 5 minute drive home.

Take your business elsewhere, my mom said it's 50/50 whether you're gonna get good product when to go there, thats why they usually go to tones...

Fire that manager, very rude, red hair unprofessional girl. Second time In a row, when pulling up my son goes “ oh dad let’s go to Culver’s this is where that rude lady is” I say don’t worry bud she’s prob not workin. nope right when I pull into order I’m mistakenly ordering by scopes and she cuts me off with WE go by sizes not scopes in such a rude way. This time I just sighed and drove off, then while driving off my girlfriend sees her just laughing in the drive through window while we are driving away.

But wait there’s more! My girlfriend calls the place she answers and is rushing her off the phone and literally says “ ok my hands are very full so” as to rush us. We asked for corporates number to file complaint and she laughs and hangs up.

Fire this lady. We will never return and anyone I know I’ll direct them...

My family and i love DQ but.. The last few times we visited here there's been hair in our ice cream 2x and they gave us the wrong blizzards once. We used to go once or twice a week but since that last visit almost 3 weeks ago we haven't returned. A few staff members are very polite and helpful but then some others including some managers have poor attitudes. I complained the last time ( my first time ever complaining) and the manager or shift leader was unprofessional, judgemental, not helpful and just plain rude so i didn't bother with it anymore. If i spend money i expect to get what i paid for without someone's beard or mustache hair in our blizzards or ice cream and i also expected manager to at least be apologetic and willing to fix it with no problem.
