I won't bore anyone with my sob story, I'll just state my experience. Now, I wasn't expecting anything glamous, just comfortable while I conduct what I came to Ottawa to do. There's barley anything to eat there besides minor snack's, luckily it's located right by a culver's and a Thornton gas station. My mobile key stopped working, luckily I asked for physical key's otherwise I would of been locked out. Now when the mobile key stopped working, I was given extra key's and told the system is down and it was disabled. So even if I wanted to use it, this feature was never reactivated for me during my stay. Now when I went to visit family, I came back to the hotel and all of my keys "were not working" at midnight... I had to seek out hotel staff and tell him none of my keys worked, he didn't question it, just checked and gave me a single key. So now I'm constantly worried of being locked out during my stay.... The pool is only 3-4ft, almost less than half a full pool, however the hot tub was nice. Weight room was small, had free weights, treadmill, and exercise ball's. There is also a laundry room and some breakfast from 6am to 9/10am depending on the day. I kept having to ask to have garbage taken out, barley and housekeeping outside of anything requested. I stayed out here a week and as the the week went on, the service got worse and worse. I came in happy and left terrible and ready to leave after that awful experience. Lastly, if you're thinking of staying here, 2 maybe 3 day's max would work, but anything longer I can't honestly recommend this to strangers or my peers, I'll use a competitor in the area next time with similar or better service. Hopefully your experience is...
Read moreThe suite was actually very nice, 2 TV's, hide-a-bed in the couch, mini fridge, microwave, and premium channels with the cable/satellite service, the in ground pool looked like it might need a good cleaning but the hot tub and fitness room looked decent.
The biggest issue was the service at the front counter. We accidentally slept a bit longer than we wanted to, but in our defense, it was the Saturday night into Sunday in which the clocks were moved forward an hour due to daylight savings time. They called the room at 11:30 am, which to us still felt like 10:30 am, and tried to just walk in the room minutes later even though I did have the "Do Not Disturb" card in the card slot in the door for the key. They came back two other times even though we mentioned we will be done and out momentarily and that we would bring the key cards to the front counter when we leave. They said that the cleaning staff wants to leave for the day so we had to leave now. When my significant other went to the front counter to return the key cards, she was perturbed a little due to the constant interruptions, she placed the key cards on the counter and said "we're checking out". She walked towards the side entrance and heard one of the employees blatantly say "What a b*h".
The facility itself is gorgeous and has good amenities but the staff itself, when it comes to their own convenience, has shown that they are not very understanding, cooperative, or professional.
I would suggest you try one of the other hotels right off of the expressway...
Read moreI have traveled and stayed in hotels for close to 30 years with my job. On Fathers Day we were meeting some people in Ottawa, when I called down to the front desk to get an extended check out time, I was told they had no availability to accommodate me. When I asked Arrate Haws to explain she was very short with me and when I asked again she was down right rude. Now, I hadn’t complained about the accommodations even after we found ants and bugs in our suite. I didn’t complain about the terribly kept parking lot which was full of garbage and debris. When I went to get my final receipt at check out she could’ve cared less about my happiness with my stay. I am in the customer satisfaction business and frankly if I treated my customer Era like I was treated I would be out of business. In my opinion I will never stay here again in fact we will return to The Holiday Inn Express next door. I called them just to satisfy my curiosity as to how they would’ve handled my situation and was told there would’ve been no problem accommodating me. Believe me for the outrageous cost of the room I would suggest staying at the Holiday Inn Express. Arrate Haws should be cleaning rooms or maybe the parking lot instead of being in a front line position. I have stayed in hundreds of hotels over the years and have never been treated like this... I will be following up this review with contacting Marriott corporate office. Which I told her I would do and she turned even...
