First Watch — Restaurant in Overland Park

The service is always on point. I have only been to this location a few times but my server recognized me and sat me at my favorite location. She also remembered that I need to request decaf with my meal as I should not be consuming caffeine for health reasons. The food is incredible. I love the biscuits and gravy. I would love to know how the chef manages to use turkey sausage and still make the gravy taste better than most people's standard offering. My only wish would be just a bit more gravy on the biscuits or an option to order additional gravy (I admit I would buy a bucket to take home if that were an option!) I recently had the opportunity to try the shrimp and grits, which I understand is a seasonal item. You owe it to yourself to get it if you can. I have never seen such a generous portion of shrimp on a restaurant plate. The grits are cooked to perfection with just the right level of cheese to make the dish sing. Exceptional! The minute I walked in this restaurant I was in Love! The interior decor and setting is Lovely and clean! The service was friendly and quick! Our server Esther was very Warm and Friendly!! Our food was hot,fresh and seasoned to perfection! I tried their fresh juice Purple Haze...it was awesome, thanks to Shawn for a great drink!! Everything about this place was a great experience! The manager James was very Friendly and knowledgeable of the company! If you're looking for Great Home cooking away from home...with alot of warmth and welcome this is the Spot to frequent!:-)) All these workers deserve a raise for Providing Great Customer Service! Will never set foot in this place ever again. I was at this establishment this morning with my husband who is white (I am a black female). We were given coffee and water and waitress took our order. We waited over 30 minutes for our food. Others who came in after us were served. The waitress told us our order would be out shortly. We finally left after 45 minutes. I noticed there were no other minorities there so I am assuming we were not served due to us being a mixed race couple. There was no type of concern for us and the cashier had the nerve to tell us to come back again. My husband told him not in this lifetime. We went to The Big Biscuit and had great service...
