Wait, What?!?! A Supermarket with a Bar-Grill Inside? Yes Please!
So the biggest problem with here is deciding whether to grocery shop first or eat and drink first? I would caution eating a drinking first, because they have a crazy happy hour with half-priced apps and taps (catchy, huh?), from 4:00 to 6:00 pm, EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. They also have additional, daily food specials. Come here if you want good bar food, but keep in mind that while they serve steak and other specialty items, be cautious. This is a bar-grill tucked in a supermarket.
We started out with an order of the Colossal Wings ($10) which were jumbo, traditional or boneless, wings cooked with a choice of sauce: bbq, buffalo, teriyaki, or sweet chili. We went with the buffalo and had sides of ranch and blue cheese. The wings were solidānothing greatāand they hit the spot. We also ordered the Pepperoni Pinwheels ($6), which was pepperoni, pizza dough, a three-cheese blend, rolled up and served with a ramekin of pizza sauce. Embarrassingly, I learned of this only a year ago and have been playing catch-up ever since. For an entrĆ©e, I ordered the Spicy Thai Peanut Chicken Sandwich ($12) which was grilled chicken under Asian slaw, peanut sauce, sesame dressing, and chopped peanuts, served on a bakery bun. It was great, tasty, and had good flavors. I would only recommend using a thinner and wider piece of chicken because it was too dry and would cook better if it was thinner. My date ordered the Reuben ($11), which was corned beef, Swiss cheese, sauerkraut, and Thousand Island sauce, served on a toasted marble rye bread. She loved it and said it was deliciousālots of good flavors. Our entrees came with a choice of a side from an extensive list: hand-cut fries, sweet potato fries, plain baked potato, garlic mashed potatoes, tortilla chips and salsa, broccoli, wild rice, creamy coleslaw, fresh fruit, or a cup of the soup of the day. The kids ordered a cheeseburger (only $5) and that comes with a drink and a choice of side and dessert. They loved it.
Big shout out to Ethan, our server, who was fantastic. He ran food, brought drinks, and was one of the best servers Iāve seen in a while. We will be back and be back often for a good, inexpensive, dinner for the whole family. I really wish we can rate on the half-star because they deserve a 3.5 rating, but I will have to round down...
Ā Ā Ā Read morePerhaps I expected too much for their Thanksgiving Buffet. I've been there twice before, had their burgers; they were great! But the buffet today let me down. All white meat, no dark, cold rolls, soggy (and I mean SOGGY) stuffing. Scalloped potatoes were undercooked. The bright spot was the mashed potatoes/green onion/cheese/bacon combo was quite tasty. There was a variety of other side dishes, too, but they looked less than appetizing. There was a good variety of desserts as well, but nothing stood out. Really disappointed it was not a great experience for me. The price for this all-you-can-eat buffet was $19.99! Can you believe it? They even charged me $2.49 for tea! Just horrible! On the bright side I know what NOT to do next year. So hey,...
