Jersey Mike's Subs — Restaurant in Overland Park

I walked into Jersey Mike's during lunch fully anticipating a wait. Ten to twelve people were already in line, and the online orders were outright pouring in. I was willing to wait days for a solid Philly cheesesteak when the chef on the flat top said 20-25 minutes I was ready to wait. They were slammed, in-house was a line twenty people long at this point, standing room only, door dashers picking up orders, it was beautiful chaos. What I didn't expect was an act random of kindness that genuinely caught me off-guard. One of the chefs running the register pulled me aside, asked what I had ordered, and said "it was on him." I was floored and reluctant to accept it. The wait time was accurate, the restaurant was packed, and he had no reason to extend such a courtesy. Yet, I left with an outstanding #43👌🏾, apologies from the team for the delay, and little extra motivation to pay it forward. 'Tis the season ⛄😎🎄🤙🏾, Jersey Mike's truly is a sub above.

The ONLY reason I am giving three stars and not one is because of the gentleman who made my two sandwiches around 7:15 on 1/19/2023 and he was amazing, he deserves 5 stars. He did such a great job and was THE ONLY person working the line when one person was working the grill and than four, if not five people were not just standing there doing NOTHING, they were legit in his way and when he asked the manager (a complete tool bag even though he seemed to be in training) to move four times at the case and he finally did. We love Jersey Mikes but if we are gonna spend $45 on two sandwiches and two bags of chips I at least expect the manager to not suck. He should switch jobs with the sweet guy who made our order. Also, shame on the bigger boss clearly training this manager and doing nothing. The guy on the line had four sandwiches to make and no one helped him and took forever to bring turkey out when he asked, again, multiple times. Do better Jersey Mikes and learn from the guy who...

I recently ordered delivery from here through doordash, and the doordasher said they had delivered it half an hour prior to them actually giving it to me. I had assumed (wrongly) that my order was stolen, and was directed to the store by door dash to receive an order refund. I called and the worker at Jersey Mike's was very understanding, promptly refunding my order. It was not moments later when the dasher actually arrived. I recalled the store to explain what had occurred, and they were unable to undo the refund, but very gracious and understanding, giving me the sandwich for free. I would like to personally say thank you to the worker I spoke with on the phone for being so understanding.

The food here is great, and the service obviously outstanding. I will be ordering here again and if I get the chance will be tipping the workers personally the cost of the sandwich they gave...
