My wife recently asked me if I could go to any restaurant, where would I want to go.

Instead of naming a specific restaurant, teppanyaki dining came to mind.

We have a few we like, but I decided I wanted to try something new so I started looking at a few others.

I was looking at menus of various restaurants and Kyoto's stood out because they offered a triple combination.

I called as soon as they opened and made reservations for that night. Fortunately, it was only the wife and I so we were able to get a 6pm time. Otherwise, it would have been a lot later.

We got there about five minutes before our reservation and the place was packed. We checked in with the host desk and were told they were cleaning a table and it wouldn't be too long.

We ended up waiting until 6:15 and all the while larger parties were getting seated. This wait is why I gave service four stars. Other aspects of service were five stars.

We were seated with a young couple, an older couple, and the older couple's two grown daughters. A friendly group of strangers.

Our drink and food order was quickly taken with soup and salad arriving shortly after.

My wife and I both got the ginger salad and onion soup. I really liked the ginger salad, but didn't really care for the onion soup although I can't say why. My wife says the onion soup was probably the best she has ever had at a teppanyaki restaurant.

Our chef came to the table and he showed himself to be very friendly and well skilled.

Both my wife and I got the fried rice and the amount you get is just amazing. It was the best tasting fried rice I have ever had. I was wanting to go back tonight for just the fried rice.

I got the teriyaki chicken while my wife got the scallops. Again, the amount of food, especially the scallops, you get is amazing.

The chicken was among the best I have ever had while my wife thought that of her scallops.

As a bonus, we got a few shrimp which were cooked excellently and very tasty.

The restaurant is quite a ways from our house, but it was definitely worth the drive and we will be going back.

Since posting the review, we went back and sat at a regular table plus we did a carryout order just last night.

When dining in, the wife got hot tea, egg drop soup, fried rice, and shrimp and vegetable tempura while I had miso soup, fried rice, and avocado roll.

All were really good although we liked the fried rice at the teppanyaki table better.

As for the carryout order, the wife got egg rolls, shrimp tempura, and crab Rangoon while I got fried rice.

We live quite a distance away so food was only warm by the time I got back, but still really good.

Both dining in and carryout, we got small servings of fried rice, but the portion is HUGE!

Even with the drive, this is our go to place...

First time here. Convenient location, lovely interior, very clean, and friendly staff. Soup, salad, mango tea and pina colada were great. My partner enjoyed his shrimp and we both enjoyed our veggies. Chicken was overcooked and poorly seasoned. The rice was dry and flavorless. The chef cooked the chicken in a way I have never seen. He put the raw chicken on the grill and cooked it until it was no longer pink. Then he cut it into pieces and seasoned it with something in the shaker. He tossed it a bit and then added sauce and cooked a bit longer. I assumed this was a technique that worked because reviews were great. It was not a great technique. My first bite was my last and that chicken ended up in a drink napkin on the table. The rice was dry and lacked poorly seasoned. I tried adding sauce to add flavor and counter the dryness. It didn’t help enough to make it palatable. I was eating for the first time today, quite hungry and still unable to force myself to eat the food.

Unfortunately, the hibachi chef knocked over my partner’s full glass of water during appetizers and soaked his denim pants (in 49° weather). The chef apologized and went back to cooking. The server brought over two fabric napkins which got soaked very quickly. Someone came over and did a cursory wipe of the floor and took the glass away. We spent the remaining time with our feet in the water under the table. I requested a towel and was brought a tiny stack of drink napkins. I had to request additional napkins twice. His jeans were still wet when we left.

At no point during the meal did the chef, server or a manager check on my partner. At the end of his time on the grill , the chef did apologize again. The server brought the roughly $70 bill. They didn’t even offer a concession on his drink. I didn’t bother speaking with the manager because we have no interest in a discount or complimentary future meal. We will...

We came last night our experience was unprofessional, awkward, the list goes on. One of the staff members was either drunk or high on something he was cussing around the whole party including children, calling the staff out their name calling them hater, making inappropriate jokes about "blowing" he was kept lifting up his shirt I front of minors our order was messed up and he wouldn't listen just kept talking over me when I was trying to explain. He told my sister she didn't get her drink order because she wasn't at the table when she was gave me the wrong rice and went back and forth with me about what rice I wanted I told him forget cause he was being weird. My other sister keep asking for her debit card back all the staff was just watching him act a fool he was acting like he was at the club. I asked later about a to go order of fried rice and he told me the kitchen was close and an hour later they brought out two Togo orders for my niece so either they cooked it when she put it in and just let it sit for two hours or he told a story about the kitchen bring closed a d when I tried to explain to him that this fried rice and the fried rice I wanted to go was two different orders whatever he took a kicked Im cause he wouldn't listen, kept telling me to blame the cook and he's stupid manager saying nobody there likes him some staff tried to deny he was drunk/or on drugs but he was on something it started with him just moving to fast to him messing up orders, cussing, stripping, and calling out family saying he wanted to fight after he scared my 3 year old niece made her cry by getting in her face and throwing up his arms he asked who her mother was and walked over there and said they could fight some tried to laugh it off cause it was awkward. Wouldn't recommend this place. Staff would walk behind people point and walk away and...

I haven’t had hibachi in many years, so I was very excited to try this place out. My good friend wanted hibachi for her birthday dinner and we were not disappointed. The minute you walk into the restaurant, you are surrounded by the vibrant ambience and the sounds of sizzling food. The smells were to die for! My mouth was watering as we were waiting for our table to be ready. The menu has just about any type of meat you can think of (including tofu). Not only did they serve hibachi plates, but they also had a full sushi bar. One of my friends had ordered the crazy monkey roll. I kept joking with her saying that her role looked “sexy”. You can tell they use high quality ingredients in everything they make. They have lots of options for vegetarian’s, which I thought was awesome. One of our friends ordered the tofu hibachi, and it was very good - I was impressed! The chef also had asked our table if anyone was vegetarian because he was going to cook their plate separately then everybody else’s. I thought that was very mindful, and I appreciated the gesture. The service was top notch! We had a server, and then we had a chef. Both were amazing! The server was very good at bringing our drinks out quickly and ensuring our waters stayed full. The chef was hilarious and very impressive with his balancing skills. My favorite part was when they have you try and catch the shrimp in your mouth. Definitely was a dinner and a show! After the main course they come through and offer fresh oranges, which was surprisingly appealing after having such savory food. My friend had a great time on her birthday and I’m very happy she found this place to help us, celebrate her day. I definitely plan on coming back when we have other events to celebrate!

We went on mothers Day. It was definitely a full house. We ordered a Philadephia Roll and Spicy Tuna Roll for Sushi. We ordered the soft shell crab and calamari for appetizers. We also ordered a hibachi shrimp and scallop for me ( with fried rice), and my husband got swordfish and chicken (with fried rice. Both meals come with soup (we got onion) and salad. The sushi my husband enjoyed. The soft shelled crab I personally didn't think was the best as it was over fried on the legs and soggy on the bottom. It was also bland. The calamari had a great crunch but lacked seasoning. The onion soup was delicious but SUPER SALTY. I ate both of ours as my husband ate the salads with ranch dressing. The swordfish my husband said was good, but to me it lacked the depth of flavor I was hoping for. The chicken came to us in small, overcooked pieces. With the veggies. The fried rice was okay but not worth the 2.50 uncharge. The shrimp in were cooked properly but were also underseasoned. The scallops were okay they were either small scallops or sliced up. They were. The meal wasn't memorable for the food. It was the service and that they were fast. However, we wanted to sit at a hibachi table and weren't given an option. We had no explanation how to use their menu to order

I went for an early birthday dinner. There were six of us. I called ahead and made a reservation for the hibatchi side. This was my first time to a place like this and I was not disappointed. When you walk in the door, they immediately set the mood. We were seated upon arrival. I ordered the tempura shrimp sushi and the philadelphia roll for appetizers. Then the grilled shrimp and ribeye for the meal. It came with miso soup first, then a small salad (I chose ranch. It tasted more like a coleslaw. Still pretty good), followed by the fried rice (well balanced, no weird veggies, and they serve a very large portion), finally the meat/seafood portion. It was all made fresh in front of you. Wasn't a fan of the chicken teriyaki. Another person from our party ordered that. The chef was subtle. Very funny. Interactive with the whole group. He threw shrimp across the room and someone caught it in their mouth. In case you've never been, you eat your meal in parts. Not all at once. I wasnt aware of that. I ordered a margarita to drink. I am sure that isn't what they're known for. Yet, still very enjoyable. Overall, it was a wonderful first time experience and I would go back.
