12:01am september 29th I ordered a double combo with only cheese and ketchup, and a chocolate shake. I waited 20 minutes before being presented with the incorrect food. The frizzy male employee by the name of Robert, who was running back and forth between the counter and the kitchen, who was also presenting an attitude that showed how annoyed he was that guests were in the lobby. He was telling everyone "its gonna be a minute," in a rude and forceful tone. When i brought my food to the front counter to have the mistake corrected, he shouted. "Just a minute!" When he finally came up to me and I told him I was supposed to have another piece of meat on my sandwhich as I had ordered a double, he snached the receipt off of the tray and then picked up the burger with his gloves which had been cross contaminated between the POS terminal, the make line, and other back of house surfaces. He put another piece of meat on the burger and brought it back instantly. But when I asked if that was the same burger he said "yea why" and I pointed out that he had just cross contaminated my food with the make line because at no point during this interaction had his gloves been changed. He was wearing the same greasy pair of gloves at the time of him touching my sandwich, as when I walked in and ordered. When i said this, he immediately slammed his hand down onto the sandwich and took it in the back in a huff and slammed it into the trash can and told his co-workers that I wanted a new sandwich because he cross contaminated it and he loudly told his colleagues that I was pissing him off, and of course I heard it, and thats what ultimately pissed me off enough to write this review. The guest expects their food to be prepared in a sanitary environment, and an employee should not be "pissed off" because they did not provide the standard that whataburger offers to its guests. A guest however, should be "pissed off" about how terribly they were treated by an employee who lacks people skills and does not appreciate the opportunity they have to work in hospitality. I come to whataburger because I enjoy the food, and I enjoy the friendly interactions I have with most of the team at this location. One memeber of this team, however, acts like he does not want to be a part of it. As a store manager of another establishment in the same industry, I would never allow someone with this type of attitude to work...
Read moreThis was our first visit to the Whataburger at Metcalf & 91st in Overland Park. This is a 24hr location, and it was around 12:45am when we visited. I wish we would have timed the events, but never dreamed it would be so bad. There were a couple of cars in the drive thru ahead of us. At the speaker, we were told someone would be with us in a minute. Several minutes later, they finally came back on to take our order. The volume was so low we could barely hear. I placed our order for two meals and had to repeat parts of it multiple times. Pulled forward, and the two cars were still sitting in line waiting on their food. When we finally got to the pay/pickup window, we sat for several minutes waiting for the person inside to acknowledge us. She was VERY SLOWLY walking around making drinks, then would go to a different station & stand there. Once she finally came to the window to take our payment, there was no greeting or any kind of customer service. She stuck the credit card machine out at us and told us our total, took the payment & gave us our drinks. Once again, she went at a snail's pace wandering around. We sat for a minimum of 10 minutes, all the while cars stacking up behind us. Once she finally headed back to the window, she began to stick the credit card machine at me again, to which I informed her that we'd already paid! At that point, she asked what we had ordered. Really?? I mean, I guess I get it, we had been there so long we almost for what we ordered. I got a couple of words out of our order, and she closed the window on me & walked away. She went over to a station and grabbed a bag that's I've seen sitting there a while and brought it to us. Turns out we'd been waiting for food that had been ready for a while. The food was for my friends. I handed it to them & drove them home, so I don't even know if the food was any good.
This was a horrible experience! Someone needs to train these employees on customer service, or at least common courtesy. Fast food may not be a glamorous job, and I'm sure the employees would rather be almost anywhere else. But, IT IS YOUR JOB!! I won't be returning to this location: this is not how to...
Read moreI went in for my lunch break today. I work in the area and thought it would be an easy and fast place to pick up and take my order back to eat. I ordered a number 2 with everything except onions because of some allergies I have. I got my drink fast, but then the long wait started. When I pulled in, there were maybe 3 cars, including me. But then it filled up. People in line behind me were all getting their food before I did, which meant I was holding up the entire line. After AT LEAST 20 minutes, I finally received my food. As I pulled forward, I stopped to make sure it was right, and the only thing the burger had was cheese and nothing else I asked for. AFTER 20 MINUTES OF WAITING for a burger. I pulled into a spot and went inside. I explained the situation, and 5 minutes later, I was brought a new burger that was still wrong. I stopped the woman helping me after she just tried to walk away without checking it and told her. Then they started asking people next to me if they ordered something similar to what they gave me, and a guy said that he did. They then gave it to him after I had physically touched the food!!!! They didn't even consider that I had touched it and just gave it to him. They then asked me if I wanted a brownie for having to wait. Then, after being inside for I would imagine it was another close to 10 minutes. I asked for a refund. Right when I asked, the correct food funally appeared. After almost 30 minutes. I've been here 2 times, and the service has been terrible. This time, I was late getting back to work. Not that it will be any impact on their business, but I will not be coming back here. This place needs some...
