Was visiting UCF, and was looking for a local Korean joint to eat at. This is the place. Large portions, delicious banchan, and quality cut meats (not the ground up cheaper cuts) you won't find anywhere else. I got the spicy pork (dwe ji bulgogi), it could have been a bit spicier, but was toned down a bit for my taste. The seafood noodle soup (Jjambong) was definitely tasty!!! Nice firey red broth, it refreshed the soul as you took a sip. Everything is made to order, so sit back relax and enjoy your company. Get an order of the fried dumplings (small is 5, large is 10) the meat inside is flavorful and the filling sauce will compliment it well. I enjoyed it so much, I went twice during my 4 day visit. The second time, I had the mixed rice bowl (Bibimbap) and the red spicy sauce is perfect. Just like my mom's. I wish I had taken a few pics, but we were starving both times and the food didn't last long. We ate it all! The American friends that came with me, loved it all. It was their first time, and said it wasn't too spicy or it was just spicy enough (3 different friends). There is a dish for...
Read moreFirst timer here. Not sure what to have expected. However the reviews were descent. Figured I would give it a shot. Okay I apologize in advance. Don't know how to pronounce any of the names of the dishes, but I can tell you what they are. Small location, cozy if you will. The server / greeter was very nice. It was busy but she was very attentive. Very polite as well. Didn't get her name, my bad. I ordered the Fried Dumplings to start. They were really good. Hot and fresh. Then I ordered the stir fried pork with mixed veggies. It was a spicey dish. She brought out the sides which included Kimchi, cucumbers. Bean sprouts, some type of fish and white rice. The actual dish had some Tofu and other items. Couldn't say what it was but it was tastey. The spice was was not overpowering at first but did help to clear my sinuses. I even sneezed a couple of times. But not crazy hot. Very good. The name of the dish was Jeyuk Bokkeum. Will definitely return, very nice experience. Want to try some of the other dishes Everything looked really good. See...
Read moreYesterday I was dying for some Korean food. It had been months since I was in Chamblee, GA where there are many great Korean restaurants.
I'm in Mims so I googled "Korean restaurants near me". Kimchi was nearest, half hour drive. Off I went.
I got there for Lunch and they have a good selection of Bento Boxes but I opted for my old standby, Kimchi Chigee. It's as good a way to judge a Korean restaurant as Salsa & Chips for judging Mexican restaurants.
It was exquisite! I told them, "Bravo! See you tomorrow!"
I returned tonight for dinner. I chose from soup list again. Tonight's pick was Al Chigee, a soup with fish roe, tofu and vegetables. I had to jazz it up a little with soy sauce and could have used a bit of cayenne and/or red chili but it was delicious.
The folks here know their stuff. The atmosphere is intimate and homey. The wait staff is very nice, friendly and sweet.
Highly recommended for taste and also awesome nutrition. Extremely healthy cuisine, one of the...
