Denny's — Restaurant in Oxnard

It was a few minutes to 10am when we arrived at Dennys. We were seated right away. There was no crowd. The first problem was that the bench was dirty at the table we were given. It took a while for our waiter to approach us, but another worker who cleans offered to get our drinks while we waited. Looking over the menu, the Mac n Cheese Brisket was looking delicious in the picture, and it made me want it, but I noticed it can not be ordered until after 11am. So I decided to go with the steak and eggs along with the strawberry Pancake puppies. The second problem was that the waiter did not take our order until 1040am. The time passed 11am while we still waited for our food and I told my friend I could of ordered the brisket if I knew we wouldn't be eating by now. The third problem was that once our food made its way to us, my strawberry Pancake puppies were burnt. There was not enough powdered sugar to hide that so of course I didn't want it. The waiter did bring another plate of puppies that was acceptable. The fourth problem was waiting and looking for our waiter so we can get to go boxes and our check. Even though we were not attended enough, the waiter did seem busy when he did pop up. I want to assume he ran the whole restaurant, and I mean take orders, cook the food, and check the customers out while his only help was someone who washed dishes. This location possibly needs help. They are making it work with who they have, but changes have to happen if they want...

Frist I would like to say I wish I could rate this Dennys no stars if that was possible. This location has to be one of the worst in the 805. The customer service is terrible. My family in I went to have a late brunch . And the moment we walked in mind you they we're not busy at all. The older man they have in the front to seat the customers is tge worst . He has my daughter I child a kids menu put it against her chest and handed her crayons and then looks at the rest of and says. I'll give you a menu when you decide where you want to seat in the corners . Did not walks to a table . Just terrible I then decided we need to leave this is only going to get worse . Decide to call the manager to tell him about the service and his response was just as I imagined to be. Just as the service proceeded to try to explain to him about what just happened and his response was sorry but sometimes we get busy and he the same gentleman that helped me tends to do that sometimes. Like excuse me so you know about this service and you do nothing about it. Do yourself a favor don't dine in at this location. Save your money and go else...

This one is a hit or miss restaurant. We ate here weekly from October to December in 2016. At the time of this writing I'm not impressed but also not really all that disappointed. There were days we had excellent service, the food was hot, the bathrooms were clean and so on, but then there were days that everything was entirely the opposite. This sounds to me like the staff falls down when a particular upper level management member isn't working. One waitress in particular is just plain terrible. She's as sweet as she can be, and I truly mean that, but she is consistently and annoyingly forgetful or she just plain ignores us. Now they do get 5-stars for friendliness. I will give them that. I just think that they need to work on their staff issues. The food though, when it comes hot (a couple of times it came cold), is truly up to Denny's standards. It's Denny's and a chain, so keep that in mind here. All in all, we would continue to go if I were still in California, but I'm not. It's good, just don't expect it to be Ruth...
