Lalo's — Restaurant in Oxnard

Absolutely LOVED the food but the service was HORRIBLE. My husband is a type 2 diabetic with kidney failure. Which means that when we go out to eat, he can't drink what's on the menu 9 times out of 10. He can't have sugary sodas, he can't have colas, and tap water is unhealthy. Most restaurants only carry diet coke (too much potassium and could literally put him in the hospital), so we usually bring drinks for him. When the waitress came to the table, I ordered a diet coke, then asked if they had a diet sprite or a sugar free Lemonade. Of course they did not, so we asked for a glass of ice and poured the soda we brought for him into the glass. A woman I'm assuming was the manager came over and told us we weren't allowed to bring in drinks. When we explained that he can't drink anything on their menu, she refused to make an exception. We ordered a drink! We weren't trying to rip them off! It was a health issue! If my husband could drink diet coke, he would have happily ordered that! The waitress told us she would bring chips and salsa and never did. She brought our food and then disappeared, only coming to check on us once right before we finished our food. Then we waited for the check for like 10 minutes. The assumed manager came over and asked if we needed something, FINALLY, and my husband asked for the check. She brought it over and then disappeared. I don't know if it's the type of place where you're expected to go to the register to pay or not, but usually when that's the case, they tell you to go to the register when you're ready. Finally, we just took the check to the register ourselves and paid. I would be willing to go back if the service was better because the food was that good, but the service was that bad that I will probably never go back. I don't know if they gave us bad service because they were mad we brought a drink for my husband, but what else were we supposed to do? It's a HEALTH ISSUE. We should have walked out when they gave us a hard time about being prepared instead of expecting them to be able to accommodate every possible issue in the whole wide world. We often go through the drink issue when we go out and always bring something for when the restaurant can't accommodate my husband's needs. We always ask if they have a sugar free Lemonade or diet sprite before he drinks what we brought for him. NO OTHER restaurant has EVER had a problem with it. I...

This is the worst service I have ever had. Google shows that they do curbside so I called to place an order and could not get through through the number on Google it kapt saying message full. I went into thier site and hit the call button to call. I stated I was calling for a curbside delivery and they said ok and took my order. I arrived 20 minutes later and tried calling again but couldn't get thru again for 20 minutes. I finally got through and they said they didn't do curbside. Told them that I had stated I was placing a curbside delivery order when I called. The girl who answered the phone asked someone and she said yes I did state I was placing a curbside delivery order but she was confused. So they told me they would not bring my order outside, I asked them if they could please bring it outside because I came in my pajamas and had my dogs in the car and they said they make no exceptions and that I would have to wait to call the owner to see if the owner would approve it. After telling them that I had waited so long for the order that their phone wasn't working and that on Google it states that they take curbside as well as the girl who answered the phone takes said she took curbside that the least they could do is bring the food to me since I had been waiting for almost an hour now. They finally agree to take my order out after much debate and time wasted so they took my credit card. I waited again about another 10 minutes for the order and no one came out so once again I started calling the number that never works finally after many tries I got through and the girl said that she went outside to bring my order and didn't see me. Come to find out the number on the call button even though I googled Oxnard rings to their Camarillo location. So after all of this I ended up leaving an hour later with no food because their systems don't work properly and no one there knows what's going on. I will never go to any of their establishments again and it isn't only because of the confusion with the curbside it is also because management wasn't willing to budge on a mistake that they made number one with not making sure that they're Google is updated and should not state that they take curbside orders if they do not number two because their website is incorrect and brings to their Camarillo location and number three because their phone...
