Well, what can I say......the waitress, Crystal was great, very friendly, sweet ,and attentive, BUT the rest of the stop was NOT great at all. First, the music that was playing was loud, hard rock from Sirius music. I do like rock, but not while I am trying to relax and enjoy a meal and not at an advertised country restaurant. It was unnerving, to say the least. It played constantly while we were there for an hour. Second, the food was so so to downright disgusting. The hash browns were really, really bad. Mine were covered with cheese with peppers and onions but couldn't cover up the taste of old bad grease that they were cooked in! HORRIBLE! My wife's French toast was made with stale, dry, hard bread. Third, when we informed the waitress of the issues, she went to get the manager, but the manager never came out to talk to us and get the message from us first hand but instead made the waitress act as the middle person. They did remake my wife's breakfast French toast but when we asked about charging us for the upgraded hash browns, again the waitress had to act as the middle person because the manager never would come out and make an appearance, AND it was not because it was busy. The place was almost completely dead. And now I know why. All in all, we will never return to this location again, and believe me, that is such a disappointment for us because we have been coming to Billy Gails for years, starting way back when the first restaurant outside of Branson was first opened. I know that they were sold years ago, and while they have done remodeling to the original, unfortunately, they also have not kept the same quality that has made us want to keep coming back. So, unfortunately, I would suggest passing this restaurant up and trying someplace else. It's so sad to see this good name local restaurant lose its...
Read moreI was told this was an absolute amazing place for breakfast. As much as I hate to say, it did not live up to the hype. In general, I totally love bacon. The billion dollar bacon was rather disappointing. Great concept, but failed in the execution. The bacon that they start with was a great thick cut, but seriously lacked that amazing bacon flavor that we all know and love. In my opinion whoever they buy their bacon from needs to do better, or they need to buy from someone else. As you can see in the photo, it looks amazing but just didn't have that bacon lover's flavor that it should've had. Was almost devoid of that amazing flavor we all crave! The pancake was huge but I'm also sorry to say, was almost without any flavor to speak of, I couldn't taste any vanilla whatsoever. A regular bisquick pancake has more flavor. Hate to say that, but its true. The coffee was absolutely top notch! I would return just for the coffee! The sausage, hashbrowns, and eggs were all very good and well prepared! Would I return? I would, but I would not order the $11 bacon and I would skip the pancakes. Their omletes and other breakfast looked like they would be big winners! What you see in the photo cost $39 including the coffee. $2.99 for an extra egg seems excessive and feels like I just simply got taken advantage of. Just saying... I never leave any bacon behind, ever, but I did today. 8( The pic with only 3pcs on the plate is what I left on the table 😰. I also left 3/4 of the pancake as well. I wanted to love this place, but fell short, especially for the price paid. Value perception, poor. The service was outstanding. My server Brandy took great care of me. Everyone was smiling, happy, and looking to please!...
Read moreOur daughter had eaten here before and recommended we give it a try. We weren't disappointed!
She had a short stack (2) of blueberry pancakes with a side of scrambled eggs and iced tea. The daughter had the chicken and biscuit platter with hash browns and extra gravy and a fountain drink. I had the breakfast burrito (sausage) with hash browns and coffee.
While all this sounds pretty normal, the portions were huge and the flavor memory inducing good. Those pancakes were about 14" across, loaded with blueberries cooked in, and had more piled on top! They gave her a pizza box to take home the leftovers and we had two more meals there with them! The dog got some because we couldn't finish the job.
Under all that sausage gravy on that 14" platter is two large open biscuits, two eggs, two strips of bacon, a chicken breast, and about a half pound of hash browns. I tasted the gravy -- yummy!
My burrito must have weighed a couple pounds with that same half pound of hash browns on the side. Lots of cheese, eggs, chunks of sausage, potato, and if I remember correctly, onion and green peppers made a flavorful blend that I could barely finish. As you can see in the photo, I like mine covered in salsa and Billy Gail's makes it good! I couldn't begin to finish the hash browns... And the coffee was very good.
Scott did an exceptional job taking care of us. Very friendly and kept our drinks full. Immediate service from the front door to the bill with the leftover boxes.
