I heard they have now Lox and Bagels. So I went today at 7. Early because I did not pre-order .
I got myself a lox and bagel. I was actually asked if I would like cream cheese on both halves, many people seem to want it on one side only. Of course, and butter (I also do butter-pbjs for myself). I asked if real butter, got an enthusiastic 'yes'.
I got also a bacon-egg-cheese one.
On everything bagels.
Let me tell you about the bagels first: fresh, huge, plump, heavy, and lots of 'everything'.
The lox: awesome, best gourmet one (compare to the mushy wet stuff you get at the chain places). While not an expert I think that might not be that farm raised garbage.
Lots of lox. And awesome red onions, like home made.
The bacon-egg-cheese: awesome, bacon just right for me. Great egg, from real eggs. Super breakfast. Absolutely not a hint of burnt fat taste. I cook myself a lot and appreciate a clean kitchen and grill plate.
Let's mention pricing.
The food is prepared by happy people, home made super quality. It is obvious that the chain store focus* plays no role here.
So I have to compare apples to apples. Things that are 'priceless': The bagels! The only place where I can find huge plump heavy fresh bagels. The lox: that is not available in stores here around and a pack of that would cost me the price of the entire bagel delight. Definitively not the Walmart farmed soggy product, or if they have that kind then it must sell before I see it .
It is a small business owned by real people with a local reputation of excellence.
They are not a franchise that gets delivered kits* and cheap Chinese dough, frozen for months in shipping containers, full of all kinds of chemicals so it raises after that.
Shelly's bagels are as if prepared for a prospect son-in-law.
So I have to compare with what it would cost me. Totally worth it, a very satisfying delightful expense. A special thing to me.
Thank you Shelly for opening a store and going through I guess lots of extra red tape to offer Lox and Bagel.

Read moreI've been watching the exploits of the "Bagel Lady" for several years now. Ever since she was going door-to-door to show her product. I travel for work, so am frequently gone, and haven't had a chance to try the "New York style" bagel in Nevada. Well, I wasent disappointed!!! I was greeted by Shelly herself when I went in Sunday morning. I was impressed with the, NY Deli style storefront. The smell was delicious. After some time to pursue, and with some recommendations, I settled on a dozen. The selection of Onion/Garlic, Everything, and Jalapeno Cheese were must haves, and of course had to try the French Toast bagel. After pleasantries, I went directly home to enjoy. They have ample seating to enjoy there, but I had hungry mouths at home. When I got home, immediately tried out the Onion/Garlic with some fresh smoked salmon, cream cheese, Sliced onions and capers. They quintessential combo!!! Absolutely fabulous!!! My wife says the French Toast bagel is her new favorite with some cream cheese, and sugar/Cinnamon on top. Very delish, we will...
Read moreIt’s one thing to have a dedicated bagel shop, it’s another thing for your bagel shop owner to treat you like you’re right at home. As I parked in front of Shelly Belly Bagel’s, waiting for my husband to bring my daughter and I our delicious everything bagel (with no preservatives btw), I saw this kind bright women with red hair exit the shop only to make sure she treats her pet customers with the same respect as her human customers.. with chopped bacon! As a dog owner and a mother, I find it absolutely heartwarming that Shelly goes out of her way to treat you and your family as if you were one of her own. Thank you Shelly! We’ll be a repeat...
