I don't go to Arby's often but I go through phases where I'll frequent them often, I think this is true for many people. However, I wasn't able to satisfy this last phase and even though I was crazy Arby's frequently over the last couple months, I found somewhere else to go.
I'm pretty simple in my orders from there. I usually get a ham slider or two, curly fries, and some cheese cups for my fries.
Since I can remember going to Arby's, my entire life (in my 30s), I would get a curly fries and a 2oz plastic cup if cheese completely full. Recently, they haven't even been half full. The last time, it looked like they smeared some cheese along the walls of the cup gave it to me.
I asked the employees, it may have been a manager, I honestly dont known but he explained their standard is to provide 0.75oz of cheese in this 2oz cheese cup and charge $0.59 for it.
I always used to order 2 full cups (2oz) of cheese for a large order of fries. So to get the 4oz of cheese I want, I have to order 6 cups of cheese which would get me 4.5oz. To satisfy my historic order of 30 years, I would now need to order: • large curly fry $2.69 • 6 cups of 0.75oz ($0.59) each cheese $3.54 This order totals $6.23
I spoke with a long time friend who works for Arby's and asked him if this is correct. He is only an hourly employee but he's worked for Arby's a long time and he is pretty sure the 0.75oz is the standard but no one follows it because its obsurb.
I will admit to really liking the cheese but I think it's unfair to be penalized because of it.
I'm not sure how much they're saving or losing because of this adherence to their standards but I can tell you they've lost my business which equals around 15 visits a year over the past 30 years and I'm sure I am not the only one.
Oh, and I gave them 2 stars because the food is good but I can get good food which is ALSO reasonably priced...
Read moreI got their new Cheesteak sub this time. It was pretty good. Now remember it's fast food Cheesesteak not authentic Cheesesteak. I also got their curly fries with Arby's sauce and Orange Cream milkshake. I highly recommend those. The last 2 times I went to Arby's before yesterday it wasn't great. The one time I went the French Dip I had barely had any meat on it and the other time I got the Smokehouse Brisket Sandwich and it was probably the worst sandwich Ive ever had in my life. It was the most expensive thing on the menu and the Sandwich I received was as flat as a pancake and was as dry as could be. Unfortunately I opened the sandwich at home and not at the restaurant. I would have for sure asked them to remake it if I was at the restaurant. I was highly disappointed which is not what I expect from...
Read moreRemember how good Arby’s was in the 80s and 90s? Delicious, tender, juicy “roast beef” on a pillowy soft seeded bun. Golden and crispy potato cakes so delicious when you bit into them you’d swear you were touched by God herself? Now you don’t have to remember because this particular Arby’s location is the best I’ve had in over 20 years. And not just a little, by a long shot. At first I thought it was a fluke but I’ve been back a few times and it’s totally consistent. Honestly, I’m floored that an Arby’s location is this consistently great, and that’s coming from an OG fat kid fast food junkie. I’ll drive past five or six other Arby’s locations just to hit this one. I spoke with the manager and he said it’s because they still slice to order like in the old days. Well played,...
