I ordered the Smoky Mountain breakfast at 9 AM which consists of eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes, and hashbrown casserole. At 9:35 AM I told my waitress that I simply couldn't wait any longer on the meal as I had paid $400 to play in a World Series of Poker tournament on the other side of the casino starting at 10AM. I told her I would just grab something quickly off the buffet. I even handed her my id and credit card and I apologized for being on a time crunch. I went to the buffet station and they offer no pancakes or hashbrown casserole. I grabbed some eggs and sausage and ate it down in five minutes. It is now 9:50 AM and the waitress still hasn't given me my cards back. I go to hunt her down and she said that the cashier is working on it. At this time she is standing talking to three "managers". None of them seem that worried that I wasn't able to get food in under 35 minutes and none of them seem to think it's odd that the cashier has now had my id and credit card for 15 minutes. The waitress finally hands off the check and walks off. I see that she charged me $26 for the buffet rather than $19 for my breakfast. So I again approached the waitress and the three managers are clearly in ear shot too. I tell her that I did still tip her 20% on the bill but that I think it's really poor to charge me an extra $7 for me to get less food than what I ordered. I thought she would thank me for the tip and/or take the difference back off the check. Nope. I went to leave the restaurant and the greeter said "come back again". So I stopped to politely explain why I won't be back. I was thinking maybe the fifth person working here cares about my poor experience since the other four don't. No apology from the greeter. Her response. "Well we get busy. I don't know what to tell you." I said, "Well, I do know what to tell you. I won't ever be back." She wasn't phased. Honestly, didn't expect her to be. Thanks for charging me more money for less food. And thanks for not caring about the terrible experience. And thanks for making me late for the tournament. They have a half dozen managers walking around and roughly 15 waitresses but apparently only have one cook and one cashier. It's too bad that I didn't have time to go to Peter's Pancakes just a few miles away. That place has great food and service. Hard...
Read moreWent for breakfast, served until 11:00AM, ARRIVED At 10:40 but we were advised that the wait would be 35 minutes. OK no problem, we can understand waiting for a table however, since we wouldn't be seated until after scheduled breakfast hours we would only have 4 breakfast options to choose from. Our choice was not one of the 4. We were advised that this was due to the inability to staff the restaurant. WRONG ANSWER as a service facility you should not require EVERYONE to adjust their service request because you can't staff your facility, as a service facility you should make whatever adjustments available to accommodate the public. I did complain to the restaurant staff and did not even receive an apology, again WRONG RESPONSE. We're not at the RedRoof inn this is a luxury resort hotel, upscale amenities are expected, we didn't choose McCafe for breakfast, but if we had and would have made it in line before 10:00AM we would have probably been able to order breakfast. On an up note, we were able to get a carry out option for the breakfast items we wanted ad the chef was on point as the food was delicious. The hotel manager received my complaint correctly, was sufficiently apologetic and issued us a voucher as compensation for the poor service received at the garden Cafe. Tomorrow's breakfast will...
Read moreDisclaimer* we did not go here as a guest at the resort, we just found it on google while looking for a place to stop for brunch. That being said, the actual cafe was exquisite and definitely worth our time! It was a little difficult to find as an outsider (given it’s for the guests that makes sense) but once we got in we were so content! Very clean, the staff and service are SO pleasant and the atmosphere is so fancy! The food was overall good, my partner LOVED his blackened salmon salad, and I can confirm, it’s very delicious and well dressed and filling! I wish that my meal came with a bit more, as it was really just 2 slices of toasted bread and eggs with some packaged turkey links and a small serving of fruit. But it was filling and I just think I’d recommend someone wanting a hearty classic breakfast to go for the buffet that they have instead. It’s 24-25 bucks but you can get multiple helpings and the food there was really more of what I was looking for! Overall, we...
