A mi Manera Mexican Cuisine — Restaurant in Palatine Township

Straight 5's all around, had the queso birria tacos (with handmade tortillas) and the chicken tinga empanada and it was so delicious and plenty of chicken was packed in it. The birria tacos were a good size and the broth was packed with flavor and they had had a lot of barbacoa and cheese in them. The empanada was a good size and topped with shredded lettuce and sour cream. Plus they have a spicy homemade hot sauce that really packs a punch. Overall the food is incredible, as I used to go to Original Taco and before that Tacos El Norte...but compared to here they don't even come close as the quality exceeds both restaurants. The service is excellent and the ambience is like sitting in Mexico listening to ranchera music, this guero absolutely loved it! Some of the negative reviews seem really sketchy as the reviews really don't speak for the food because I have tried a lot of it and it has not disappointed or made me sick..makes me believe they work for the other competitors considering none of them offer handmade tortillas...

Ami Manera is an excellent choice for Mexican food in the NW suburbs. Having moved from Avondale, I wasn’t initially impressed by the options in the area. However, after driving by multiple times, and my interest piqued by the name, I decided to give it a try, and I'm glad I did. This place truly has that hidden gem vibe in an older plaza.

I ordered the Las Quecas Plate, which included one chiccharon and one papas con chorizo. I was pleasantly surprised to see that they offer spaghetti as a side instead of the usual rice. Speaking of beans, Ami Manera passed my personal "beans test" with flying colors—the beans were delicious and not soupy at all. I always judge a place by how they cook their beans and rice (or spaghetti, in this case). If a restaurant places that much care into their sides, you know the rest of the menu will be just as amazing.

I'm definitely coming back to explore their other items. If you're in the Palatine/Arlington Heights area and craving Mexican food, Ami...

My bestfriend came here a few weeks ago and she said the quesabirria tacos was delicious. Thus, I really wanted to check out this restaurant. We were hungry and in the palatine area. I ordered the quesabirria tacos with handmade tortillas and my best friend ordered the taco plate for take out. Hands down the quesabirria tacos here is on my list of top recommendations! The consome was so delicious and there was some meat inside too! The quesabirria tacos were amazing as the beef was so tender and the onions and cilantro added the perfect freshness! The staff were really friendly and kind! The environment is very cozy and clean! I will definitely come here again to get the quesabirria tacos and try other items on the menu. I am so glad to have tried...
