Kosta's Gyros — Restaurant in Palatine Township

I have been a customer of this restaurant for 10 years. I was always very happy to go there with my family for dinner, I also ordered food by phone very often. The food was always very good and the atmosphere was nice. All the people who have worked or worked during this time were very nice. Today I called to order dinner by phone and the girl who picked up and wrote down the order was very rude. She wrote the wrong order, everything was different than I asked for. After arriving home and taking out the food, I called the restaurant and reported that the order was not what I ordered and the same girl was very unpleasant again, she lied that she was manager and hung up the phone while i was still talking. I went there to fix the order and she was still very angry. I really like this restaurant but as long as she works there I will not go back there. It's a pity because the food is good and the atmosphere was always pleasant...

I have been coming here for years and have recomended Kostas to many people. The food quality today was awful. My brother in-law Ordered two hotdogs with mustard which had enough mustard for a dozen hotdogs. It's supposed to be a thin line not a quarter cup. The French fries are not the same and were cold. My wife and I ordered a gyros plate and an extra pita to split. The meat was cold and certainly didn't come directly off of the spit recently. Not only do you no longer get a salad with the plate the meat portion was way smaller than before. We always had leftovers after making two decent sized sandwiches. Today we barely had enough meat to make two small sandwiches. I also ordered Greek potatoes because this was one of my favorite places to get them. All I can say about the potatoes...

Once a great spot, now not so much. This used to be a great neighborhood-like place to grab a fantastic gyro and get the kids chicken fingers, etc.

Over the last few years however both the service and the food quality have gone down hill. I have no problem waiting for good food but the last two times I've been in they've either lost my ticket, or given the food to someone else.

Tonight my wife and I went in, paid at 7:03pm, and had to go ask when our order hadnt been called by 730pm. You could tell they had no clue and immediately started cooking it. When the motz sticks were finally done we were called up only to find the sauce was just barely thawed to the point it wasn't edible. We asked for to-go boxes and we'll heat the food at home.
