If you're not afraid of seasoning and a dash of heat you should consider checking out JamRock Grill in the Ollie's plaza in Palm Bay. This is our second time ordering. They have officially replaced my old Jamaican restaurant favorite. This location has a large indoor seating area.
My go to favorite is the jerk chicken plate. We have tried their jerk chicken wings (10/10 - never had wings this good and crispy), and Jerk pork (10/10 - soft and tender) as well. The quality of the meat you get has been great, juicy and perfectly cut!
[Which is a plus because I used to grab Jamaican food from another local restaurant who had a big hit or miss on the quality of the food with being dry/reheated]
Flavor? You can tell they don't skimp on seasoning and I will recommend to bring tissues if you a wimp when it comes to spice because your nasal cavity will thank you for giving it a flush 😅🤣🥰 the rice is fluffy and fresh. My favorite which is their steamed veggies which consists of cabbage and mixed veggies lightly seasoned and not over nor under cooked.
They offer a lunch special so today we called ahead and grabbed two meals for under $16! Highly recommend and heads-up call ahead before you go. It's not a quantity it's a quality type of restaurant so you may not get what you were craving unless you call...
Read moreI had been hearing about this place for sometime now. I finally had the chance to visit - along with four friends. The owner recognized me as a former restaurant owner and gave me the grand tour. The place, though basic in decor, was both clean and welcoming. The menu was quite extensive - all Jamaican fare. My entire party ordered the same thing, curried goat, because we were confident it was curried goat and not some other meat such as deer. Some other places play the obvious trick of passing off deer meat for goat meat. The portions were more than adequate, the presentation was impressive and the food quite appetizing. There was a small number of people in the facility dining - it was lunchtime. However, the place clearly does a sizable take out business because I saw multiple people come to the facility, each picking up multiple boxes of food. I have not had the chance to evaluate any of the night club type shows. However, the owner is a professional DJ so I expect the place would be jamming. All in all my experience at Jam Rock was highly positive. I recommend Jam Rock with the highest level...
Read moreSomeone on FB told me to try this place. I happened to be near by and decided to grab some food. I ordered my food and decided to get a large plate so I would have something to eat the next day. The large plate of oxtail with peas and rice and cabbage. That's all I ordered and it came out $19.25. I was kind of surprised since that seems a bit expensive. I rationalized that the food must be really good to bring that expensive. IT WAS NOT! The oxtails were extremely fatty and didnt taste good. The peas and rice had a weird taste to me. The cabbage was decent, but I have never seen cabbage that included corn, string beans, and peas in it. I felt like they were using the extra vegetables as a filler to give less cabbage. I was very disappointed with the quality and taste of the food. My mother is Jamaican and I'm originally from NYC. So I was expecting the food to be somewhat like I am use to. I ended up throwing my $20 plate in the trash. I will consider going back one more time and try something different. Hopefully it will be better and I will...
