Went for the 1st time on a Friday night (what were we thinking?, lol) and the place was busy. Short wait for a table. This eatery offers table service, call-in with drive-up pickup (but you can not place an order from the drive-up window) and delivery. It appears to be a well tuned operation. Staff was very friendly and waiting staff checked in with us numerous times as we waited for the meal to arrive. From the time we place the order, until the pizza arrived was 30 minutes. Coal Oven was recommended by someone from Rhode Island who thought it was the best pizza in the area. Loved the eggplant chips! The gyro pizza was wet and the actual pieces of the meat were the size of a postage stamp and you could not taste it because the feta cheese drowned out all other flavors. Menu said it is served with tzatziki sauce and it was not (but forgot to ask about it at the time). Definitely would not order it again. My husband enjoys pizza more than I do and said there was absolutely nothing wrong with the mushroom/pepperoni pizza and he ate all of it. His personal preference is for a different brand. I gave it 4 stars because they definitely do a great job and I'm guessing people who consider themselves pizza connoisseurs would enjoy this style of pizza even more. Great job Coal Oven!

Ordered a pizza and sandwich for pick up yesterday. Got it home and found the pizza to be black and burnt. Called the restaurant and had the rudest, most inconsiderate woman on the phone tell us that that's how they're supposed to be (been going there literally since they opened 15 or so years ago and NEVER had one of their pizzas look like this). Then we were told we had to bring it back, that they would not send a new one (we live less than 3 miles from the restaurant). Finally, the woman cut my wife off in mid sentence and yelled at her to just give her her name and she'd "put it in the book". My wife was so mad that she just hung up. Not worth arguing with someone with that kind of attitude. We swore the last time we ordered from them that wouldn't ever again because of the rude hostility from the woman on the phone (don't know if it was the same person), but we've loved their food from the very beginning (and were very glad they made it through the pandemic). Unfortunately, the staff are making that choice for us. Used to be such a wonderful place!

Oh, my!!! I have a pizza blog and YouTube channel (Playing with Pizza), and I dropped in with a friend on a Friday night when they were busy and short-staffed. I wanted to shoot some video for my blog, but I was reluctant to ask permission because of it being busy and short-staffed. However, Rob, one of the owners who was making the pizzas, apologized to me saying it would be a little while before someone could take our order (to go). Because Rob was so nice and friendly, I asked if I could shoot video for my channel, he said go ahead. I interviewed Rob while he was busy making pizzas, and he answered all of my questions. The wait staff were so nice. I had to be in their way with my video work, but they were so kind and accommodating. We waited a little bit for the pizzas and sides of meatballs. We thanked everyone for their hospitality and left to go home to eat the pizza. I shot video for a review on my channel, and let me say: I was blown away by the taste and quality of the pizza. I have had pizza in New York City (at the country's first pizzeria), in Brooklyn, in Boston, and in New Haven, Conn., the epicenter of the coal-oven pizza world. And, let me tell you, this little shop in Palm Bay, Fla., is among the best pizza I have ever had. If you like a New York-, New Haven-style pizza, you have to go to Fired Up Coal-Oven Pizzeria, you will not be disappointed. To Rob and the staff, thank you for making this trip to see friends in Palm Bay so special. The pizza was incredible. The sauce had a nice tanginess to it. The cheese pizza was incredible. The pepperoni-bacon was packed full of flavor. You really need to think about franchising your restaurant because the pizzas are great. I...

Went on Friday 8/20/21 about 6 pm, first time going. Drink orders were put in, were brought right away. Food order was taken. I had a clear glass after finishing it was not asked if I wanted another even though waitress walked by a couple times without asking if I wanted another after I while I had to ask her for another while she was passing. My wife's food came out first (chicken Parmigiano over pasta) with nothing being said how much longer before my daughter's and my food was coming out and my wife was never asked if she wanted grated cheese so she didn't even eat the spaghetti. My wife was done eating by the time we got our food, she was not asked how it was or if anything else was needed. Was not asked how everything was till way after the fact. Had to ask more refills again. My calzone was not crispy only soggy even though there was char marks on the top (how I like it) without the crispness. We asked for cannolis to go and if they full size or minis and was told minis-after another 20 minutes of waiting we asked for boxes, and she gave us the check and said the cannolis would be right out. Another ten minutes went by and we finally got them and they were full sized. We had had enough by this time and paid and left. If I had singles I would've left less than the 5 dollars I did for tip and we will never set foot in that place again. What...

So disappointed. My in laws, who visit us on the weekends, are very generous in that when they visit, we eat out for lunch and dinner so I don't have to cater to all our different dietary restrictions.

So tonight they decided to get the family meal deal including 1 large pie, wings or salad and garlic knots. We chose a large cheese, the fired up special wings, 1/2 & 1/2 knots and added a Greek salad.

The pizza was ice cold and tough. The flavor wasnt as good as it used to be either. The wings were dry, like DRY and the usual delicious marinade was tasteless. And again, they were cold. The salad was a standard pizzeria salad. Poorly chopped iceberg lettuce with handfuls of toppings. It was okay, but mostly because the dressing saved it. The knots were so hard we couldn't bite into them. All in all our meal was disappointing. But we were hungry and ate.

It has been some time since we have been in and the possibility is that we had a bad dine in experience, we always dined in before today. I honestly cannot remember why we haven't been in so long. But our experience today was a reason for us to not go back for a while.

I will say the girl on the phone who took the order was very pleasant. She repeated the order back to me and the only thing we were missing was the side of pizza sauce to dip our knots. But that...
